Margarito never asked for a rematch? Lie? Here is the quote:
After Williams won a unanimous decision over Margarito in July of 2007, Williams turned down their immediate rematch request and they were forced to petition the WBO to place Margarito in mandatory position. I was provided with a copy of the petition letter that was sent to the WBO after Margarito's defeat.
According to Diaz, the WBO turned down their request for an immediate rematch and gave Williams permission to make an optional defense before such a rematch could take place. Margarito says that he waited on the sidelines for months and was forced to take a keep-busy fight against Golden Johnson last November because Williams did not return to the ring until February of this year. Because Margarito feels that he was forced to wait, he now wants to make Williams wait.
Of course Margarito's manager will tell a different story to save face for his fighter. But I have something more concrete than that.

Because he doesn't have to, he's reckognized by most as the best WW in the world, why not make him itch and fight another beltholder. From a realistic point of view this wouldn't hurt Tony's reputation as I as a boxing fan believe Clottey is definitely the same calibur of fighter Williams is.
I'm sick and tired of Williams moaning about being ducked, hardly anyone knew his name last year, then Goossen decides to hype him up because of his freakish features as a fighter. Hell if I were 5'6" to 5'9" I wouldn't want to fight someone like Williams either, a lot of the top 10 WWs don't rehydrate to 164 freakin' pounds the day of the fight (Quintana II)!! Margarito seems to be willing to but likes to fight another couple of big names in the division and why not. Like I said before I think a rematch should happen, but Williams should try to make a name the old fashioned way (fighting) instead of running his mouth. A safe fight like Andy Kolle, tune up or not, hardly impresses me. I'm sure there's plenty of top 10 guys at 160/154 for him to fight until Tony's available again
he was 161 the night of williams/quintana 1 and 154 against Quintana the second time. you ****in dumb ass monkey.Comment

Everything that you wrote down (and it is very true in many aspects) about everything you can also say about Floyd-Margarito as he started to call him out... Paul Williams right now has as much as a name as Margarito had back then... then he was hyped up because Floyd turned down 8 Mil (bogus figure) to fight him... you have no problem with Margarito fighting the big names??? Floyd also had no problem with it... who had Margarito fought before Cotto... Williams (will still have to wait and see what he is)... Cintron (he is tall and can punch... that's all... has no mental make up to beat anybody of any merrit)... Clottey (can still develop but will never become a great one probably)... about a million posters tried to explain to you why it doesn't makes business sense... and you came up with oh yes... money... what's about legacy... he is a *****... so what is Margarito now??? I personally can understand what he is doing... but to your die-hard-margarito-fans what is he now??? Sounds like pretty much the same... you dudes should really stop calling other fighters cowards etc. Floyd was not even beat... your guy was beat by Williams... by Santos... and they are now there and willing to fight him again... of course it's not that much money (like DLH) but is your fighter about money (*****, coward) or is he a warrior and cares about his legacy??? What is it now??? I mean he gets 4 Mil for P-Will (who he beat the first time *lol*) I mean where is the problem... DLH is more money... but who else brings 4 Mil to the table??? Mosley??? Mosley doesn't bring **** if he ain't fights DLH. I personally think that the 4 Mil are bogus as well but hey why should I care... nobody cared about Floyd and thought it was true... so what's the deal... Williams is both legacy and money... avenging a defeat like a man... coming back and showing that your the better man... it's really funny to hear Margarito fans now talking about business... If you dudes could only read your posts from 1 or 2 years ago... you can't even look in the mirror... I understand that you support your fighter but the next time you probably shouldn't be leaning out the window that far. Margarito is as much *****, coward, business man or whatever like Floyd is or was in your opinion... I know it's hard for you guys...
With that being sad... man this time without boxing goes really on my nerves... I'm happy that now it's starts rolling again... I even looked forward to the Ruiz-Valuev fight... and if you look forward to that you know what that means... all these BS talking... crying really goes on my nerves... get into the ring... I don't care what it is... bring it on...Comment

Ok we all know Floyd lost to Castillo the first time then he easily redeemed himself the second time. Regardless the fact of the matter is that other fighters are still wanting to see Pwill prove himself. He needs to fight a few more middle tier fighters and just Ko them and move on. P Will is the Next Winky Wright!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOLComment
