Well, Ring Generalship is much more than just being elusive. This thread makes it seem like only defensive fighters and ring generals which is grossly not the case. But yo, if you want to drop some bars, get at it son.

I'm not a fan of the runners, you can have great defense and not be a runner but theres very few fighters around like toney or Nard, who slip punches and then make their opponent pay for em.

Yeah, and btw this is also one of the reason imo why MMa is becoming more and more popular these days, people wants exciting fights which MMA do really gives most of the times...

i agree with that. I've always said that there has to be a balance. Boxing is not just Boxers and Brawlers. The most famous and best boxers of all time have been Boxer/Punchers.

It's like music right? It would be pretty boring just to listen to Shawty Lo/Brawling 24/7. I would get bored quickly. I need to have some Nas/Boxing as much as I listen to Shawty Lo.

              I hate Lil Wayne btw.

Whole world of difference between defensive and a runner. Winky Wright was a defensive genius but dude would be in his opponents face all night long and never took more than 2 steps backwards. Guys like Maliggnagi are definitely runners. Anytime a guy positions themselves more than 2 armlengths from their opponents...gives them a few lovetaps and runs to the other side of the ring they are a runner

They are also the same people who tune in by the masses for big fights, and boost the popularity of the sport!

Nothin wrong wit movement and technical boxing as long as you throw some punches and don't clinch every 5 seconds. Boxers are in there to win, but they know entertainmemnt value is what makes them their $. From an entertainment standpoint, it just ain't as appealin to see a guy dancin around all nite instead of mixin it up. As long as boxers can mix in some punches wit the movement, I love watchin em do what they do.
