the death of ring generalship could resurrect the popularity of boxing

recently,i hear so many "fans" complain about "runners".and for the most part these are morons who don't understand that you don't get points for taking punches.boxing is the art of hitting and not getting hit.plain and simple.you like ****** fighters more power to you.bum fights could prove a lucrative business invest me for the idiots who come up with that ****.fact of the matter is, the regular folk who don't follow boxing see it that way too.those are the kinda fights they like to see.real boxing fans enjoy brawls as well but they appreciate a good boxer performing as opposed to these taggers of "runners".I just wanna ask you out there who consider yourselves "real boxing fans" to appreciate the art as well as the brutality of it.after all, its called boxing, not brawling.

                Juan Manuel Marquez
                Rafael Marquez
                Christian Mijares

3 fighters who are in the top 10 P4P in most lists and are considered technical fighters above anything else yet these guys are exciting to watch. Even Izzy Vazquez cant be called a ******, mindless brawler because there is much strategy in what he does. He's offensive and an inside fighter so of course he's going to be hit.

You are right in saying that boxing is about hitting and not getting hit, but it is also about inflicting as much damage on your opponent as possible. If a fighter goes in the ring and is elusive, but only taps his opponent, then what is so great about that? Are you seriously going to be satisfied with appreciating ONLY DEFENSIVE boxing for 12 rounds? Paying fans certaintly won't.

I don't understand why people make it seem so 2 sided. Either you are a defensive mastermind or you are a face first ****** brawler. It isnt like that. For anyone to say that they didnt like Vazquez/Marquez 1,2 and 3 because "it was just ****** brawling" is pretty ****ing ignorant of the sport. The same can be said of anyone who has watched Whittaker and called him a runner.

Brawling has been part of boxing since day one! I been following boxing since the early 90's (Chavez/Tyson) and I consider myself a real boxing fan, just ask Cox cable they ****en love me over their. Anyways i preffer a Brawler with skill over a over defensive boxer.
