Angulo is nothing... this Medina guy is about the same with similar record...

Vanes walks through both of them before 8.

This is a very dangerous fight for Vanes. He will have to box his way to a win as Medina is a very dangerous puncher but is a bit on the unpolished side and has a shakey D.If you look at the records,Vanes is being moved very similar to the way Pavlik was brough along, give him different looks and styles against progressively better opponents that he should be able to defeat and eventually turn him into a somewhat major draw when he fights for a title.

Very well put SugarK, but I think Vanes will cruise through this fight on the 19th and get the KO.

Is anybody complaining about Pavlik now. He was 31-0 when he faught Taylor for a title. At the time the only notable name on Pavliks record was Miranda. This is top ranks way of bringing up fighters, make sure they are ready for the top before you throw them in there. Trust me it will pay off in the end. By the way for the angulo nuthuggers, who da **** has he beaten? Nobody thats who.

at last... all 3 posts above that actually know what they are talkin about and don't just throw some chump Angulo name around here and there as if he is Tyson or somethin...

Top Rank is doin a fine job bringin Vanes along to be fine Champ one day soon, and actually sit in his throne for some time...

and as i said before... ANGULO IS ZERO.. HAS PROVEN NOTHING MORE THAN VANES HAS.. VANES WALKS THROUGH HIM IN NO MORE THAN 8 ROUNDS!

they are moving Vanes slowly, but they are moving him. This is the right thing to do. He has 20 fights.

Vargas was shot to death too soon.
Berto was rushed into a title and now is going to have to face top tier fighters that he would be better prepared for had he gone the slow route.

I will take a guess and say the kids family is fairly well off so they aren't desperate to rush him into a shot in the arm payday.

                  I wouldn't exactly call them "well-off"

more like Vanes has a smart father and uncle and manager Shelly Finkel who understand that it is best for all that Vanes take the slower safer path and stay at the top once he gets there.

kinda like this... they don't care about chasing for pennies now when you can tough it out a bit more and wait for the real dollars.
