I didn't say his boxing skills were bad, just nothing particularly special. As far as legacy goes, certainly he'll be remembered for years and years, no doubt about it. But he still isn't an all time great, unless you're talking strictly about pound for pound punching power, and in that case he certainly would be considered an all time great. Over all, though, while an excellent fighter, I feel he just falls short of being in serious consideration as an all time great. But don't go thinking I'm saying that because I don't like him....I still watch some of his old fights because he was exciting as hell.

Also, that fight with Oscar....you really ought not to use that as an example of his "greatness", honestly.

when i originally posted the thread i left oscar's name out.

but changed it and added oscar's name. a w is a w. so what the hell.

i think tito is great and borderline all time great.

The Hawaiian Punch ruined Ruiz for anything that remotely resembles actual boxing. I haven't seen him in a fight I enjoyed watching since his nap 19 seconds into the first round of that fight.

And the other guy you mentioned is a pygmy. If he didn't stay on his bicycle, he'd get obliterated, and hell....maybe even accidentally stepped on and squished.

hawaiian punch? more like samoan sumo.

on pygmy , he doesn't have to fight like that though..... he can still throw combos while boxing. that 1 jab and run **** doesn't do much for me as a fan.

i'm not saying slug it out...... he's not built for that but he can go in throw some combos and go back out. he can do some better countering with his skills and talent.

This thread is dedicated to the idiot threadstarter of this garbage:

Talk about anything boxing related here. Where the boxing discussion is always Non Stop!

I don't believe in RED K and Flawless is my buddy so I wouldn't hit him with it but if you feel like giving someone RED K for a thread please click the link above and show him some Tito style loving. Puerto Ricans and they're ALTS do your thing......
Tito was a very good fighter, big puncher but had avg boxing skills. I thought, as do most boxing people, DLH beat him outboxing him for 8 rounds of that 12 round fight.

I liked Tito, he was an exciting fighter to watch.

                    because i'm a tito nuthugger.

like i said just because a few people agree with you doesn't mean it's true.

there's a lot of tito haters.
