the guy probably saw on boxrec all the fights where tito got knocked down so that must mean tito has a weak chin.
That's the thing about Flawless. He's more of a record looker at er than someone who's watched boxing for a long time. He posts ok stuff from time to time but that seems to be his modus operandi, relying on certain facts and not taking everything in context and how things played out in people's primes.
If he would have watched Tito Vargas live, he would have been screaming how great Tito was for sure.

[QUOTE=Flawless;4001604]It was an achievement but Hopkins beat Tito by outboxing his ass. Hopkins is not a great classic boxer but embarrassed Tito that day. What did he do after that fight??? He KO Joppy showing that him making 160 was no problem but than becomes a problem after he fights Hopkins EXCUSES[/QUOTE

i agree with this statment. everyone said beating joppy was proof that he can fight at 160. hell alot of people had tito beating hops. but at the end of the night hops was WAY to good for him. do i think tito is an all time great though?? yes. he has to be. he beat everyone that he was across the ring with before hopkins. i hate the DLH decision just as much as the next guy i thought DLH won. but the books and the record says that tito won we cant change it by saying he didnt. tito is not a 175 or a 160 fighter. give him credit he knew where the challenge was and he got beat but you still have to give him his.

The thing is props to Tito for making a lot of money fighting out of his division and getting beat up.
He scored a ton of cake for every loss he had.
Poor Cotto. He could never come close to Tito's popularity even years after Tito's best wins.

          People just dug that cat.

You obviously dont know what "styles make fights" means....

BHop started his career at 160, Tito started at 140. Tito's style didnt fair well against BHop because BHop has a hell of a chin, and can dish out a good punch as well. BHop also has tremendous elusivness and boxing skills. Unfortunately at that time in tito's career, Tito was a headhunter and assumed that he was going to easily KO BHop.

The best fighters in history have lost to other great fighters.

This thread is dedicated to the idiot threadstarter of this garbage:

Talk about anything boxing related here. Where the boxing discussion is always Non Stop!

I don't believe in RED K and Flawless is my buddy so I wouldn't hit him with it but if you feel like giving someone RED K for a thread please click the link above and show him some Tito style loving. Puerto Ricans and they're ALTS do your thing......
Sorry, Pal, I agree with your buddy Flawless. Tito was always great to watch because he carries thunder in his gloves, but to consider him an ATG is very bias. He relied almost exclusively on his power to win his fights because his boxing skill is, at best, mediocre. And nothing wrong with that at all, many of the most exciting fighters ever to have stepped into a ring were the very same (Marciano, for one, Foreman, and the list goes on and on), but there's nothing other than his power that makes him stand out from the crowd. Marciano was incredibly conditioned and had the willpower of a demigod, Foreman...well, he was just Big George, nothing else need be said. The most distinctive quality of Tito was just his heavy hands, that's it. Again, great to watch, but doesn't belong on anyone's ATG list, unless they're from Puerto Rico.

tito's boxing skills are not as bad as people say. obviously he was no ray robinson though.

but ATG are judged by legacy and resume NOT skills.

he has a very solid resume and his legacy was great. how many won't remember tito?
