No, what amuses me is the way Americans bridle at the suggestion that their is home-favouritism in their boxing media, and this in the most 'patriotic' country on earth!

Partisanship is part of sport and all sports coverage exhibits nationalistic bias, all of it. The Ring and most other P4P lists we discuss here are administered by US organisations and favour US fighters. Its not a conspiracy, its just the way it is. If you really think that America would not rate Calzaghe as the worlds best boxer were he home-grown, then you aren't being honest with yourself.

If Oscar KO Pacman and Joe beats Jones, he did does deserve the title to be the P4P best

I agree there is nationlism in Britain as well as the Ukrain and any other part of the world but Pacman IMO has his claim to the number spot if he was American or he did deserve to be called number one I would agree with you. Britain is just as Patriotic as America but you will never see it that way. How many riots occur after a football game in Europe because thier team lost against another nation? If rioting isn't being over patriotic I don't know what is.

Tsyzu was P4P#2 when Hatton beat him. Hatton has never been near the summit of the rankings, #8 or #7 at best.

Tyszu isn't American either so the point is moot.

If we're talking sporting bias, I agree with you, all countires are just as bad, and Britain particularly so. See I don't mean it as an insult when I say a group of fans or media are biased, I view it as natural!

As for the wider issue of patriotism, I don't believe anywhere in Europe even gets close. America has patriotism as one of the fundamental principles of being a citizen, you have your flags flying everywhere, things are seen as Un-American...truly its not at all the same in Europe or Britain. We do have nationalism, but this mostly takes the form of hatred of foreigners, I don't think we have the American style "loving our country". I'm not criticising, its just an observation.

                  You've lost me.

Has a Brit ever been P4P#1? That's the point am trying to get across. If Calzaghe beats Jones and was made P4P#1, i don't see how anyone could begrudge him that top spot?

I agree we are over patriotic, but I blame the currupt media outlets like FOX and CNN.They spew some of the most right wing nonsense I have ever heard.I don't fly flags and sing praises to just America but I don't doubt that too many citizens do.

Tell me what British fighters deserved the number one spot and how they were treated with biasness against them. Also,do you think beating a fadded Jones warrents him jumping to number one ?
