Is Joe Calzaghe an ATG great fighter???

Take Joe Louis. He made 25 (or about that) titledefenses; was HW champ for 11 years. But the problem here is that he never defeated an ATG. In fact he had ONE shot at an ATG (Marciano) and he blew it.

Speaking of Marciano. Was he an ATG? If Louis wasn't an ATG then Marciano wasn't either since he didn't beat any other ATG's.

With a definition like the one you just mentioned such cases could be made for several fighters normally considered ATG's.

I guess then, that it comes down to having 'boxing ability beyond imaginable'. With that being the case, then I can very well see Joe Calzaghe fit that ability. Noone, and I mean noone, in history has a style and ability comparable to Joe Calzaghe. Hence Joe's an ATG.

Nope, not at all. He defended the WBU title, the WBU!? How ****, before fighting an old Tszyu. Don't gte me wrong that win was a very good win, but he hasn't done a lot else for me to feel he his ATG worthy. He moved up to 147 to beat Collazo, a fight many feel he lost, and then beat Urango, Maussa and a shot Castillo before being beaten by Mayweather,

I like Hatton. But, he is no way ATG worthy. If you feel Hatton is ATG worthy for being unbeaten at JR WW, surely you should feel Calzaghe is ATG as he is unbeaten at Super Middleweight?

I already said that Calzaghe isn't an "ATG" but is a great Super Middleweight. You arn't gunna tell me there are more great Super Middleweights than there are Junior Welters?

Hatton won't go down as a top ten 140 lber IMO, Where Calzaghe will be one of the top 3 all time 168 lbers at least.

I'm not even a fan of Calzaghe and I vote yes... So **** off! I think that he is an ATG super middle weight. Check my posts. Every time Calzaghe has fought recently I have routed for his opponents. Kessler, Hopkins and now Jones. I may not like him all that much but I can recognize a great fighter when I see one.
