Yes, but not everyone who voted for Taylor in the poll I linked to above is from here.

And you can hardly call mine a biased view of the fight. I clearly said that I have no complaint that Pavlik got the decision.

You put too much faith in judges scoring. Probably only when it's convenient for you though.

Honestly, do you think Taylor was winning the first fight when he was knocked out? The judges had it scored 59-54, 58-55, and 58-55... all for Taylor. Giving Pavlik two rounds at most. Pretty much everyone views those scores as crap, including you I'm guessing.

The 115-113 score you listed is the most accurate; the 117-111 is ****ing absurd.

No, I think JT WAS winning the first fight until that KO. I'm just saying, the rematch WAS NOT as close as people are making it seem here. Go do some research from other sources and even watch the fight again from an unbiased POV. Kelly won that no question.

I doubt both of you are going to come to a conclusion when your locations are in both fighters home towns

You see, I actually posted other sources showing that I am not alone in my opinion that it was a close fight that could've gone either way. Here's another, from Dan Rafael (yes, the "big fat idiot"):
But was it too little, too late? This time I thought Taylor had pulled it out, seven rounds to five. I felt Pavlik's strong finish was not enough to erase an established Taylor lead.

Around me, the scores were similar: a draw here, 115-113 or 116-112 Taylor there, a couple of 115-113 scores for Pavlik.

Even though the official cards had a clear and unanimous tally for Pavlik, disagreeing with many of us, there was no sense of outrage or robbery.

It had been a tremendously difficult fight to score, and many rounds were very, very close. Many of the rounds that we had scored for Taylor were ones that he had somewhat stolen, a few flashy flurries negating Pavlik's relentless thudding assault. Even when Taylor was scoring well, there was a sense that Pavlik was the one establishing the tenor of the contest.

Although Pavlik was victorious, he had clearly been in a real battle.
Also, I really appreciate the advice to "watch the fight again from an unbiased POV"... coming from a guy in Youngstown, that means a lot.

I've watched it four or five times, as recently as two weeks ago. Thanks for the "unbiased" advice, though.

Maybe not, but pretending that Pavlik ran away with that fight is laughable. Even for a homer from Youngstown.

You can call it how you want to see it, but Kelly won without question. I'm trying to be unbiased but I can only call it how it WAS.

                    • Interesting , but think what it would mean for Kelly to get in the ring with Calzaghe and KO him. Pretty damn good run for a young fighter KO Taylor, Hopkins then Calzaghe.

And YES Id also say Jones has a good shot vs Joe.
