Roy never bounced around on his toes like Ali... thank you come again.

Fine. He had the feet to be fast-footed.

I agree, Roy didn't look shot at all in his past two fights, and that's partly why I'm picking Roy to win a SD over Joe.

Another other reason is the New York area boxing judges, such as Julie Lederman, who is very likely to be working this fight. Roy will NOT lose on Julie Lederman's card, no matter what happens in the fight - I would bet my life on it.

Joe hasn't been able to punch as hard as he used to because of serious hand injuries. And he appeared to be faded in the Hopkins fight - different than he was against Kessler and Lacy. Fighters fade quickly sometimes - Joe knows it better than anyone, and that's why he's retiring.

That being said, if the fight were Wales, Joe would win.

The first thing a fighter loses is punch-resistance. There's not much question about Roy's punchresistance I'm afraid. And how long is it since Roy defeated a dangerous opponent?

What I'm trying to say is that Roy might not be shot in the Holyfield/Gatti way but he's getting there. IMO Roy has NO chance of victory against Calzaghe and I wouldn't be surprised if he kisses the floor.

Reed: Nice opening post Green coming up.

EDIT: Sorry. I cannot give green. I gotta spread some around first.

I just outlined it for you... hes past his prime and near the end of his career.. but coming off 3 wins, no matter who they are... is a sign that your not shot...

when you can no longer beat ANYBODY, like gatti and castillo... you are truly shot...

I usually agree with you Bat, but I don't think Joe's able to hit hard enough to KO Jones - because of hand injuries, he can't hit like he used to (i.e., in the fights with Mitchell and Eubank). And I don't believe he can win on the scorecards against a popular American fighter in New York.

And I agree with Ree****yalus that Roy is not a shot fighter - faded a bit, yes, but not shot.
