And the opinion here is that for all his remarkable talent, his body of work isn't enough to crack the top 25 either. Looking at that 19-42 range, the upper end just doesn't seem right given the talent pools of the past.

So our final declaration is this: if Mayweather never fights again, he ranks somewhere in the second 25 in boxing history, pound-for-pound, taking into account both his ability and his accomplishment. "Pretty Boy" and his devoted fans may not want be happy to hear it, and the Floyd haters probably won't like it either, but that's where he belongs.

I agree and I'm a floyd fan. I really don't know if there are any floyd fans out there that would put him in the top 20. show me a quote from any floyd fan that thinks that. floyd fans seem to be clear headed for the most part.

To me anybody in the top 25 has some kind of claim on the greatest of all time, and a strong case could be made. Floyd fell short of such praise to me, so even though I like him I can not put him that high, I rate him highly in the next tier of great fighters though.

        • He doesnt belong in the top 50 because of his resume. IF he were to comeback and beat a combination of mosley, margarito, williams, pacquiao, cotto then he climbs up. If he beats two of those guys he's in the top 40 and if he beats 3 he's in the top 20

          • i think people talk **** about mayweather because they like him and are mad at him.. not because he deserves it more than anyone else. people talk **** about everybody when they really should just be admiring. i mean really.. he has skills and can do whatever he wants. we should be begging him to come back instead of talking ****. he never gets the credit he deserves. i recommend watching his career hl on youtube
