If he beat Floyd Mayweather, and then lost to Cotto, and then beat Clottey, I would say Zab is inconsistent.

When he fought Floyd, if he won rounds 1,3,5,7,9,11.. and lost 2,4,6,8,10,12... I would say hes inconsistent..

          He isn't...

He lost to Floyd, Cotto, and Clottey... and does well in rounds 1-6 and that's it. (although in his last fight I thought he fought well... but also thought if the fight continued he could very well be stopped).

That's not inconsistent, hes just not an elite fighter. I would give him the gatekeeper position of the division though... Zab doesn't suck, but hes not great. If you can beat him, your ready for the elite, if you can't beat him, your not ready for the elite.

THIS IS Zab Judah, that is the fighter he is... Someone whose talented, but not in every part of the game... Boxing is as much mental as it is physical, Zab has the physcial, but doesn't have the mental... thats it, it isn't going to magically appear 70% into his career... This is who he is.
agree 100%. iv tried telling people for years he is not elite lol. yet you still see people hyping judah up and then slating calzaghe, mayweather etc. hes a tough fight for anyone particularly up and coming fighters as zab is a stepping stone for them.

I don't know about that. If the fights were only 4 rounds every fighter would be more aggressive because they would know that they only need enough gas for 4 rounds. Most people who have fought Judah know that he fights really fast for the first few rounds and tires out so they basically give the first 4 rounds to Judah (not really but you see my point) and then turn up the pace to win the end of the fight.

Zabs problem is that he lowers himself to the level of oppositon or he fights better than expected against a fighter that is better than him.

I dont think anyone has dubbed him "inconsistent" but I do think he has a stroke of bad luck with a lot of his losses with the exception of Cotto and Floyd.

Even in those losses he hurt Cotto worse than Margarito did as far as almost KOing Cotto and he Knocked Mayweather down in impressive fasion.

I wish they didnt end it soo early in the Kostzya fight. he didnt let his legs come back to him and got up way to early.

I thought he beat baldomir even with poor training and almost being Koed.

I thought he shouldve taken the scorecards against Clottey who didnt start to match Zabs activity until the laster rounds.

he KOed Spinks in a rematch.

I think he is super skilled and deserves alot more credit than people give him. He looks good even when he loses.

I like the guy and think he is a spectacular fighter, I watch him fight and only wish I could be that good when I go to the gym.
