"Kitten" Kessler Chases Toothless "Panther" Miranda Up Tree In His Own Backyard
Now we know why the panther is an endangered species. A mere kitten has just chased Edison "La Pantera" Miranda up a tree. The "kitten" is former and future world super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler.
To put it in boxing language, Leon Margules, head of Seminole Warriors Boxing has just informed HBO executives that he is "not interested" in having Miranda fight former WBA and WBC champion Kessler on June 21 despite the fact that Kessler readily agreed to holding the fight for the soon to be vacated WBA super middleweight title at the Warriors Arena in Hollywood, FloridaComment

Exactly. Funny how this goes unanswered.
potentially beating the man (bhop) who many, myself not included, believe beat Joe means nothing. But beating the man who Calz waxed convincingly does? Excuses, excuses.
If you don't want to see Pavlik fight your golden child, people, just admit it.Comment

Nice try, but that "report" is a press release directly from Team Palle's website, and I can't really find any media outlet that reported it that way. Funny how Palle wouldn't answer anyone's phone calls (ESPN, DBE, etc) when Miranda's team was accusing them of backing out of the fight, and then issued their own press release several days later. Even if what they claim is true, their PR is terrible and makes them look highly suspect."Kitten" Kessler Chases Toothless "Panther" Miranda Up Tree In His Own Backyard

I disagree when people say that Pavlik hasn't earned a shot at Calzaghe, ditto when others say that Kessler hasn't earned a shot at Pavlik.Exactly. Funny how this goes unanswered.

Pavlik is a MW, but if the fight with Calzaghe doesn't happen, and he still wants to move to SMW (which he might not) then Kessler should be the guy he fights, because Kessler is rated #1 in that division.Last edited by Clegg; 08-20-2008, 11:43 AM.Comment

Agreed. I have no problem with a Pavlik/Kessler fight. But I don't think he should have to fight Kessler to get a stab at JoeCal.I disagree when people say that Pavlik hasn't earned a shot at Calzaghe, ditto when others say that Kessler hasn't earned a shot at Pavlik.

I think the Kessler/Pavlik bout should be made if Pavlik moves to SMW... Dont think Mikkel needs to earn a shot at Pavlik at SMW.
The Calzaghe/Hopkins fight showed us that even though Hopkins still got a brilliant boxing brain hes just too old... If Pavlik wins a UD against Hopkins, which is a very possible outcome, I dont think it proves anything... Joe didnt get any credit for beating popkins, right?
I would personally give Pavlik much more credit for taking a fight with a prime Kessler...Last edited by Elvizzz; 08-20-2008, 03:56 PM.Comment
