[QUOTE=edgarg;3952795]The odds should be at least 5-1 against Manny. This is a mismatch in all but age, and, as the fight progresses, if it's held at all, Manny will be getting more and more desperate trying more and more unsuccessfully, to avoid Oscar's left jab and hook, to get close. Because of his size, and being a southpaw, there's a chance that Manny's head might do some damage....................
Manny gets discouraged if his "blitz" tactics don't work, and really has no other fallback.(/Quote)
The boxing and betting insiders had spoken and many of them knows much more than you know! What I don't understand is, your ultra idolatry with DLH made you not only for your one-sided self-satisfaction opinion but made you also a crying *****! For consolation, DLH is still ahead by 2-1 but far from your 5-1 statistic! Why not let the fight go to see for the result and to erase all pros and cons opinions, huh??!Last edited by bluediamond1196; 08-19-2008, 08:53 PM.Comment

For your information, myself and several acquaintances, well known boxing writers, exchange opinions when something comes along which merits discussion. Like Manny-Oscar. We are all keen students of boxing, and a couple, like myself have ring experience. I also have judging experience. You it appears have had neither.
I actually had written a long, sharp, response to your unwarranted attack, but just now scrapped it, you wouldn't have understood it.
If all this is too much for you, then DON'T read it....................Comment

[QUOTE=edgarg;3955441]You're quite entitled to your opinion, but I'm not sure I understand your concoction of mixed metaphors and garbled syntax. What I DO understand is, that with no provocation, you have been very rude to me. I haven't said anything against you, or done anything to offend you. I don't know you.

I think the line is reasonable but not accurate.
i see this fight being closer than 2 to 1 in favor of oscar...
by fight night (if the line goes correctly) it should be like cotto v. mosley (ie. damn near even).
i think too many people are putting too much stock into de la hoya's SIZE and EXPERIENCE...pacquiao IS smaller and less experienced (overall) but de la hoya isnt getting any younger and pacquiao is fast and strong (he's been the strongest of his entire career lately).
I see it going to a close split decision that could be in either pacquiao OR de la hoya's favor to be honest.Comment
