I don't think Oscar would be "mad" at all, except as a piece of PR crap. I think he'd be delighted if the odds were EVEN, or in Manny's favour, and he could get in a huge bet on himself. The odds should be at least 5-1 against Manny. This is a mismatch in all but age, and, as the fight progresses, if it's held at all, Manny will be getting more and more desperate trying more and more unsuccessfully, to avoid Oscar's left jab and hook, to get close. Because of his size, and being a southpaw, there's a chance that Manny's head might do some damage....................

Manny gets discouraged if his "blitz" tactics don't work, and really has no other fallback.
I don't care how much the Roach is supposed to have taught him. I believe, that although very good against an ordinary opponent (as the older Tyson was, if he could blitz him) his best days are now behind him.

Listen, any fighter with smarts, whether "over the hill" or not, can stay in the fight. And Manny isn't capable of winning on points. Look at Hopkins, and many otrher veterans. Manny isn't a clever boxer, he's a swinging fighter. Oscar is not THAT FAR gone, he fought very well against Mayweather and didn't fade.Hi left jab alone would keep Manny away. And pile up points. Oscar is a smart fighter, and knows exactly what to do. His only problem will be doing it, and I'm sure he wouldn't take the fight if he wasn't as certain as he can be, that he'd win h very last fight.....

2-1?!?!? That’s not even worth dropping ducats on…I’m guessing the oddsmakers have been reading too many Freddie Roach interviews

Pacquiao, the WBC lightweight champion, would have to rise by two weight-divisions to face De La Hoya at the agreed upon weight of 147-pounds. De La Hoya has fought as high as 160-pounds, while Pacquiao moved up from super featherweight a few months ago. [details]
              wow thats crazy...2:1 ?!!
wonder, if its at a 150 catchweight, how far odds will shoot up.

i'm one that feels that this silly fight will take place.

him and his third world pride making him balk at a 70/30 split will be overcome by the fact that he could fight the more danderous soto five times and make less money than fighting oscar once.
and when he looses no statis loss. and maybe early retirement.

oscar will comp pac by getting a soft ref in there.

i'd rather see a soto, hatton,or guzman versus pacquiao rather then a pathetic dlh/pac fight!

the general boxing fan(the ones with the most money to spend)
              will probably get thier way!

clearly those oddsmakers aren't boxing fans or they are trying to pull one over on casual fight fans. dlh/pac is a mismatch.

i think manny will stick to his guns and not make concessions with oscar.
then sit out the rest of the year, why take a risk for so little against soto, then come back early '09 and make a bundle against hatton then retire for a short time!

Yup, Manny should just sit the rest of the year out and come back next spring. A fight with Soto might end up like the Marquez-John debacle. BTW, the odds are sh8t and the oddsmakers have been brainwashed by Roach's rants.

I've been saying this since the ****ing beginning, but everyone in here's crying it's such a mismatch. The people who are actually going to be putting money down know it's not such a wide odd fight.
