i think there is great possibility of story line for Delayhoya vs Margaritto - Old Mexican Hero, hands over the legacy to New Mexican Hero.... it could be done so well, Oscar wins, he retires and says "Margaritto is the next great thing, after me, but i have to go" Tony wins, oscar says "Mexicans you have a no champion, so i can leave now"
Cotto and Margarito definately put Boxing on the "Board".

"This could be the night that saves boxing," says Richard Schaefer, CEO of De La Hoya's company, Golden Boy Promotions, which is staging the clash.
And its not the only example. Oscar said it many times in interviews and as did Floyd.
needs examples of over hyping?
Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather Jr. rolled through D.C. during their 11-city media tour for their May 5 megafight, Dan Rafael writes.
"I know Oscar will bring his A game and, of course, I always bring my A game," he said. "May 5 will be my last fight, so I will give the fans a toe-to-toe battle. I came into the sport to be a legend." - Floyd Mayweather Jr."I'm not gonna rush. I'm gonna take my time and give you a brutal beating, a brutal beating. You could have Bill Gates' money and you couldn't buy this talent." - Floyd Mayweather Jr.Comment

Fights like De La Hoya/Mayweather, Mayweather/Baldomir, Hopkins/Wright are fights that should not be PPV. Why? Because fighters like Mayweather and Hopkins go into a fight HYPING the **** out of it overpromising while already having the game plan of doing as little as possible in a fight to get the W and that kills the sport in the mainstream, especially in a society that wants action. At this point, causal fans are PAYING for entertainment and they DONT get it. Thats why UFC dominates bars now. Thats why Elite XC is on CBS. A fight doesn't have to be Gatti/Ward, but if a fighter wants to be a PPV fighter, then he must be ready to give fans what they want because they are paying for it. If a fighter doesn't care to give what the fans want, then be happy with HBO, ESPN, and Showtime. Don't over hype a fight by acting like a bafoon and promising to do things that will not be done because at that point, they are just scamming the paying fans.
This is the only trash that you bring to the forum on a daily basis. Constant, phony criticism for Floyd who is retired. The fact that you are a Cotto fan makes your opinion even more comical lol. If it isn't criticism about Floyd, it is his fans.Comment

A fight has to be fought and anything can happen. So it doesn't matter what a fighter promises. Once that bell rings, you adjust to what's happening.
The fight also wasn't that bad as most of you make it seem. Even the very critical Larry Merchant gave the fight a 8.5 rating.Comment
