Just like Max Kellerman said the fight would do, put Boxing back on the "Board". The fight definately put our sport back on the map. With the recent invasion of the UFC, the "Battle" made a tremendous mark for the sport of Boxing. What an event and What a Fight!. Thank You Tony, Thank You Miguel. I think everyone on BS can agree that July 26th was a great night for Boxing!

It did make Sportscenter, which was nice to see. But no one fight can save boxing, we have had 6 or so of these in the past few years.

Excellent fight! Just the type boxing NEEDS! We need much more of these tho. Cotto and Margarito showed what its all about - Respect, class, Skill, Will, Sportsmanship and Grace in defeat.

Yeah, but this fight never "promised" to save boxing. It simply lived up to all the hype, and that's saying a lot for two non-American fighters who don't speak English.

It did a lot more in terms of "Saving" boxing than Floyd vs Oscar.

It was a great fight. Even more for hardcore fans but 2.4 million buys for De La Hoya-Mayweather made news headlines. Action like Cotto-Margarito with the stage of De La Hoya-Mayweather would have been perfect.

And that's exactly why we, The Boxing Community, need MARGARITO vs DE LA HOYA!

unfortunately, de la hoya margarito wont reach that type of stage because the storyline isnt as enticing, and the fact that nobody who stands there and trades with de la hoya with no defense has ever been left standing. the fight would do well, VERY well, but not on that 2.4 million buys level. Margarito wont be able to promote it like floyd did, you hated floyd, margarito is hard to hate (his fans arent).

I agree, but it's still the next biggest fight out there to be made. GBPs can promote and build up any storyline they want. They put a spin on Oscar vs Forbes, come on....Forbes!?!

Oscar is afraid. After watching him struggle with little Stevie, and after watching what Tony did to Cotto, I understand why he's scared.
