That would have been the Bika fight, a tuneup against an opponent who would raise Calzaghe's American profile a bit. The way Pavlik was perceived back then I can very easily imagine his name coming into discussions for that fight.

He tried to get a fight with Calzaghe but "he is not worthy".He is about to fight Hopkins and wants to fight Abraham.He is only at the age of twenty six and fought the past middleweight champion and now Hopkins who would give anyone problems even at 43.

Im getting so sick and tired of this story. Basically the only people who claim jones is a decent opponent is joe and his father enzo. I remember back when the jones/trinidad fight was happening (back in january), calzaghe said that the fight was bull**** because they were two has-beens. It's strange how 8 months later calzaghe has changed his tune to 'roy jnoes is a legend' and a 'worthy opponent'. Back then he said he wouldn't fight jones because he was past it. Calzaghe took the jones fight over pavlik because he sees it as low-risk, i'm not so sure. If roy jones can turn back the clock 'for one night only', joe may be in for a shock!
