The size excuse is just that,an excuse there are plenty of smaller countries in the olympics that do better than Britain, but even countries with the most population,China and Japan don't get the highest total medal count.

I've taken the time to watch live rugby games. you should watch what it looks like when a runninback hits the hole live and try to tell me its similar. or you should try it you wouldn't get any yards or try it more than 5 times.

its a different bread like salmon and sharks.
Damn right its not the same. Your quaterlinehalfbaker gets his blows cushioned by several layers of padding. My girlfriend takes a harder hit when I throw her on my bed.

Take away the one or two athletes that have cheated and we would still top the list so that point is irelavent.Canada was cought Peurto Rico and Russia.Every athlete this year tested clean so that smart ass remark is just the type of comment I would expect from you.

This is another comment I expected to hear.I find it funny when British posters talk about pads when without out them you would see more deaths and injurys in that sport than any other. All you have to do is research the early game before the introduction of pads and see how bad people were hurt.Every member of the team is needed and when a first string player is injured their chances of winning are greatly dimenished.

Ask any Pro Rugby player and they will tell you both sports require toughness both mental and physical. In football a player can become parylized on any given play even with pads. They are not wearing armour just something that spreads the damage over a larger surface area.

I think the question should be "Why do American Football players wear skintight jodphurs?"
