I wonder how different the reactions from Americans will be.

Apparently Joe beat a washed up old man.

Will they say same about Pavlik? (If he even wins)
stepped up in weight to fight a lifelong middleweight who's only been at light heavy for 2 fights. and calzaghe lost to the smaller man. at least when hopkins fought smaller dudes he knocked them out(obviously calzaghe can't knockout anyone). calzaghe got embarrassed. hopkins has beaten tarver, winky, and calzaghe in his last 3 fights. if pavlik beats him(for real not calzaghe style) then he will get his respect.

You are the exact type of moron the thread starter was aiming at. I'm no Calzaghe fan, but at least i respect the man and his accomplishments.

No, it depends on how he wins if he does at all. It will be, WELL PAV BEAT HOP BY KO or UD while JOE BARLEY BEAT HIM BY A SAD SD. Truth.... Of course if he beats him by a SD, that would just mean he's just as good as calzaghe or at least what people will say. Anyway That's what we will see if it goes down with PAV winning.

I like both guys and I only want PAV to win because he's the up and comer while HOP is out the door. This is a good fight for PAV, he will be tested and if he passes, Joe better watch himself. PAV will be looking for a fight that Joe might not want to take depending on how and IF PAV wins.

          Anyway, Pavlik might actually lose.
Pavlik won't lose, Hopkins is old as the hills and will gas after being hit so hard for so many rounds. He might even knock him out, that's what Pavliks goal is.

A Prime Hopkins could be differen't

Hey there MAte let's point out that Joe won over Hopkins by a close split decision and B Hop landed Joe on his back side early on....If Pavlik fails to beat Hopkins it doesn't prove anything for Joe. In my book if Joe wants to be a legend killer he has to fight beat Jones by Ko or landslide....If Pavlik can beat Hopkins but either stop him or win by large margin it still doesn't prove anything but what we already know styles make fights.....Joe needs to get in the ring with Kelly and maybe Tarver before he can say he is a legend killer....Lefty

You mean to tell me that NO ONE has EVER KNOCKED B-HOP OUT??????

Man, you would think if PAV KOed him it would be a pretty BIG deal?

No matter what, some will agree that Joe's SD will be better of a win than a KO if PAV did in fact KO HOP.

It was never said a Calzaghe SD is more impressive than a Pavlik KO. Pavlik KO would be more impressive, but however, far more likely for Pavlik. He commonly gets KO's whereas Calzaghe commonly gets UD's. That's all.

I'd give full credit to Pavlik if he KO'd Hopkins, and it's definitely note worthy no one else has. There's not been many times if any though, where a KO of Hopkins has been so likely though, because of everything considered and Pavliks style, power and KO ratio. A great win regardless though.

Ok, just making sure. Because yes Joe fights to score pts and PAV fights to KO (not the best way, but it gets the job done 90% of the time). But IMO the fact that HOP has never been KO'ed means a lot. I think if ANY guy KO's HOP it is a BIG BIG deal.

Of course as time goes on it might be more likely that HOP could get KO'ed but I don't think HOP will fight to the age where we will see it. But anything can happen.

Anyway I think if PAV beats HOP it will mean a lot no matter how he does it, especially if he KO's him and IMO, if he does that it is BY A MILE better of a win than what Calzaghe did or didnt do in there fight.

                    I'm favouring Hopkins.

So i'd give him **** loads of credit.
