This thread is a joke. The difference between Margarito and Mayweather is that Margarito has fought everyone including Williams (when he already had a cotto fight set) and he suffered a loss on his record because of it. Mayweather on the other hand avoided all the top fighters in his division and even retired in his prime in order to protect his 0.

Margarito isnt going anywhere and if Williams continues having success, it will only make the rematch that much bigger. It's so ridiculous for Mayweather fans to accuse Margarito of being a coward for not getting a rematch immediately after cotto while excusing Mayweather and even crowning him the greatest WW of his era when he never fought the top welterweights at all.

Isn' it ridiculous to say Floyd ducked a man or is coward after rising 4 weight classes looking for big fights and never getting them until he left Arum by buying out his contract?

maybe he just wants to hold on to the belts for while, make a few successful defenses get some money built, this is less of a risk...then when hes got more of a bedrock of confidence built up he'll take on the challenge........maybe he is a coward but i know id be havin doubts if i was in his shoes

This is just plain and basic common sense, Paul Williams had no regard for margaritos life last time, and this time, i think he might just kill him in the ring, i just dont know how margarito feels about getting in the ring with a man who probably chants "whoop that trick" while fighting him. This American warrior just might re-enact when mexico was forced to give up its american territories to the colonists, margarito knows history isnt on his side. he sleeps at night dreaming of beating this man and wakes up apologizing.

I do find it interesting that Margarito is SERIOUSLY considering Zab Judah over Williams, Clottey etc. Very interesting indeed. (And I love Zab.)

I know Oscar's not going to fight Margarito because I think Oscar would lose. I think Oscar knows that.


I don't label any fighters coward. Not me. But, I would like to see Margarito fight someone more worthy.

As for Williams, I NEVER felt Williams annhialated Margarito. With his love taps, he won on workrate IMO. I am not sure if I would want to see a rematch other than to see if Margarito would win. The fight was not all that. Period.
