    25...

Cotto never came forward one time in that fight....

    Floyd vs. Baldomir....

Floyd Fought in the Pocket against Baldomir.(unlike Cotto did to Marg.) Floyd Walk Down Baldomir sometimes..(unlike Cotto did to Marg.)

Floyd went to the body against Baldomir..(unlike Cotto did to Marg.)
    and
Floyd fought in the Middle of the ring against Baldomir..(unlike Cotto did to Marg.)

    Cotto vs. Margarito

When Did Cotto Stop Running and decided to fight in the Pocket.?
When Did Cotto Stop Running and decided to fight Margarito in the middle of the ring?
When did Cotto Stop Running and decided to walk down margarito?
When did Cotto Stop Running and decided to go to margarito's body?

NAME ONE ROUND THAT COTTO DID ANY OF THIS...

I just cant agree with anyone saying that THAT was running. Cotto BEGAN to run as soon as those body shots were landing and then his output began to decrease in those pockets but even at that point he would still exchange.

it is my opinion that his stamina is what caused him to lose this fight. I dont think he had enough gas to keep moving and circling which is why he would hang on the ropes and trade with someone who couldnt be hurt but could definitely hurt him.

Now, is this something he's going to be able to improve on? Is Cotto going to be able to work on his endurance and stamina because if he isnt, I dont see how he would be able to go through that again and not end up with the same result.
Cotto was throwing an average of 70 punches per round and landing over 40% of them.... anyone who calls that running needs to watch a little more boxing and come back another day.

If Cotto was able to continue the way he fought in the first 6 rounds, he would have won 117-111, and we would be talking about how great of a fighter Miguel Cotto has become. And your totally right, theres a big difference b/w potshotting and landing Powerful Combinations, which is exactly what Cotto was doing.....

        Great Post!!

When Cotto turns a shoulder to you and walks from post to post time and time again, that is running. Boxing would be like Cristian Mijares or Linares. Even a JMM or RM. Cotto's "boxing" was light years behind them. Cotto was not landing "power" shots. Tell me one time he set his feet and was well balanced and land a clean POWER shot. Cotto's mind set was speed and get out. He would get a solid shot in, but not with lots of power. Like when he was moving around and cought Margs with a straight right that popped Mars' head back. It was just a well placed and timed shot. It had the effect of power, but Cotto's feet were not set and he immediately ducked and ran out of the way, whiich means no real power to turn your hips into the punches.

One of the most important aspect of scoring a fight is, When its live...Watch it, dont try to score it, but then watch it again, w/o the commentary, and you will see a different fight a lot of the time. The thing is, and Ive done this with so many fights, I have a 3 subject notebook full of fights that Ive scored in detail, is that after you score it, throw it away, dont look at it, then score it again, put this one away, and after scoring it once more, compare and contrast how you scored the fight. I usaully write down about 2-3 sentences after each round, on y so and so won, how its panning out and what to expect from the fighter coming up in the next few rounds. The more you score fights, the less you will listen and take into account what the commentators are actually saying. Its almost like you totally block it out ya know?!?!
Will take alot of time but good idea. Its good for just incase someone yells robbery! So I'll start doing the same. Question: How did you score JMM vs Pacman 2?? I wrote that one down. I had JMM winning 115-112

                      hahahahaha.... the biased is evident.

When a fighter lands over 40% of 700 punches, Im pretty sure its not running.

If you think that Cotto not landing power shots, you need to watch the fight again, he had Margs head whipping in every direction.
