of course mma fighters train harder than boxers. the cardio is about the same but mma fighters definitely do a lot more weight lifting as they use more muscles during combat than boxers do. besides the obvious like the leg workouts, mma fighters also need to workout their biceps, back and mid-section a lot more than boxers do and the chest and tricep workouts are about the same.

when it comes to sparring and technique, well no question mma fighters do alot more training for that than boxers. some mma fighters have to train 8 hours a day in sometimes 4,5 or even 6 different disciplines whereas boxers just need to train in 1.

They're bums. Rampage and his mate were fat bastids getting tired and rocked from single uppercuts and hooks. Hayemaker would take both heads off with one combo. They will never get the conditioning unless they had boxing matches. And if they were good at that they won;t be pie eating MMA bums. Only yanks fall for bull**** like this.

Ah yes, the worthy opinion of the poster who claimed Rocky Marciano retired to avoid Sonny Liston. Sure, you're credible!

Chuck Liddel who can't box for ****, outboxed Couture in slow motion! Enough said! Imagine what the Klit would have done. Decapitation! Only fools who believe media hype (ie. Marciano could beat Ali!) fall for this ****.

Hahaha, the idiots train 8 hours a day. No wonder they have no intensity in the sport and no wonder they huff and puff like the bums they are. I seen that reality show and I can tell you they train like bums. Weights make em slow robots and they are wide open. They can't last 12 rounds and need 5 minutes because **** all happens in 3 in MMA. Griffin and Rampage were way too easy to hit and punched each other like girls. Any genuine cruiserweight would have decapitated em.

you're an idiot for even bringing up kimbo slice in this thread. kimbo isn't even a top 60 mma heavyweight in the world and probably can't beat the top 60 mma heavyweights. he is having trouble in the EliteXC which is like fighting for the Caribbean Boxing Belt in boxing. he wont' even be an elitexc champion and thats one of the worst mma organizations in the world.

don't make glib statements if you don't know what you're talking about cuz you come off as an idiotic hater.

so you think david haye beats rampage or griffin in an mma match? not even close. he'd get submitted in seconds. yes I know, rampage and griffin would get beat bad in a boxing match I know. I'm not a delusional such as yourself.

The top guys in each sport trains their asses off and the ones who don't are obviously lower on the totem poll.

There is no "train harder" because it's not as though there is a collective agreement between the fighters to agree on a set # of training hours per week.

The most noticeable difference is in terms of sparring. While MMA sparring tends to be more technical and skill based, boxing sparring is much more demanding and tends to build cardio like a mother.

You're a hillbilly. Submission? they won;t even get past the jab and right hand, the bums. If they came in they would be eating hooks and their heads were rocked by each others fatman pathetic attempts. Everyone knows kicks are useless and make you vulnerable to takedown. If slow motion Liddel can outbox a fat grappling bum then imagine what fast and strong undisputed world champion in Haye would do! Different class. i think you;re the dleusional one mate. That's why one man and his dog watch it outside the US, a country where they elected an imbecile as their leader. Not the smartest country in world now is it?

I mean you kinda admit Liddel has no chance in a boxing match V world champ, just like all the other MMA bums. But he did outbox one of his fellow bums! So you kinda admit they'll all get outclassed like the bums they are. Like Floyd says, they're just bums who were not good enough for bigtime of boxing.

Also, for the record: I do think a boxer has a better chance of winning in MMA than a MMArtist does in boxing, especially on the higher level. I think that's also what lends to MMA's excitement and why fans enjoy it for the entertainment value. The # of variables makes for good TV.
