    2. We'll agree to disagree on this because I think fans will respect him for fighting such a dangerous fight and if he puts up a good fight, fans would respect him even more IMO.
    1) you wouldn't?

      1) He will most likely lose and probably take a beating in the process.
      2) Most of the mexican fans that will usually cheer for Oscar will be rooting for Margarito leaving Oscar with the 1 or 2 white fans in attendance.
      3) Once, again he will likely lose, which just serves to strengthen the Bobfather and Top Rank.
      4) Margarito has bigger fish to fry.
i think 1 and 3 are good reasons to make this fight.
2 is not true because tickets to oscars fights are to expensive. the real mexican boxing fans will be in the nosebleeds.

Let me ask a hypothetical question here. What if DLH fought Marg and beat him, what would that do to an already great career and legacy to DLH and what would your opinon be of a win like that this stage in his career?

Of course I would, I should clarify. If he fights and beats DLH much more casual fans would watch his fights, right now he's more limited to the diehard boxing fans and Mexican fans.

Look, I'm not trying to continually disagree with you, so I hope this isn't coming off that way. BUT, it takes a certain type of fighter to draw in the casual fans. Sure a fight with Oscar would boost his popularity with the casual fan, and some would probably even be surprised when Margarito won. But, when we're speaking of gaining in popularity we're talking about the English speaking world as I'm sure he already has a big following in the latino community. And, let's be honest, it's going to be tough for someone who doesn't speak English to reach the masses.

Ok first off, it isn't cool to be an adult and not know how to write basic grammar.

Second, "smaller guy"??? WTF?? Oscar is 5'11" just like Marg and has fought as high as 160+. What the hell are you talking about?

Oscar is past his prime but would give Marg a better fight that Cotto did, I bet it. He's a much better boxer, has the size to match with Marg and has a longer better jab to control Marg with.

The only downfall is can he sustain that movement and boxing for 12 rounds at his age? Hopefully we will see...........

                  3. How many diehard Mexican fans actually like DLH? I mean I don't think I've seen too many of them in the crowds apart from the Vargas and JCC fights. I don't think I've heard "Mexico" chants in any of his fights.

                  4. Margarito does have more meaningful fights at 147 but a fight with DLH would make him a much bigger star than he is now and would make any fight he fights afterwards much bigger than they are now.

                  5. He said he wanted to go out with a ****, he wanted an all action fight that fans would remember, Margarito is the one to bring that kind of fight.

                  6. While a fight with Margarito wouldn't bring as much money as a fight against Pacquiao, it would still bring him a lot of money if it's promoted right.

                  7. I think he'd actually gain respect from the Mexican fanbase for fighting Margarito.

For sure..! Make the ****ing fight happen and let DLH get his ass kicked

It's alright, a healthy debate is always welcome.

Trinidad managed to make it without speaking too much English, his fighting style should be able to make up for the language barrier.
