    Oscar should not fight Margarito.

All of you saying Oscar should fight Margarito need to come off your high horse. I can't think of a single good reason for Oscar to make this fight happen outside of money.

    1) He will most likely lose and probably take a beating in the process.
    2) Most of the mexican fans that will usually cheer for Oscar will be rooting for Margarito leaving Oscar with the 1 or 2 white fans in attendance.
    3) Once, again he will likely lose, which just serves to strengthen the Bobfather and Top Rank.
    4) Margarito has bigger fish to fry.

    1. DLH said he wanted to fight the best in his last year in the sport.

    2. DLH was willing to fight Cotto, why not fight the man who beat Cotto?

    3. How many diehard Mexican fans actually like DLH? I mean I don't think I've seen too many of them in the crowds apart from the Vargas and JCC fights. I don't think I've heard "Mexico" chants in any of his fights.

    4. Margarito does have more meaningful fights at 147 but a fight with DLH would make him a much bigger star than he is now and would make any fight he fights afterwards much bigger than they are now.

    5. He said he wanted to go out with a ****, he wanted an all action fight that fans would remember, Margarito is the one to bring that kind of fight.

    6. While a fight with Margarito wouldn't bring as much money as a fight against Pacquiao, it would still bring him a lot of money if it's promoted right.

    7. I think he'd actually gain respect from the Mexican fanbase for fighting Margarito.

            i gotta agree,

its not like oscar needs the extra money a Pacquiao fight would bring,

the man is already on his to becoming a Billionaire,

De La Hoya is held to a different standard. I love the fact that after a long career of fighting the best he pulls a Roy Jones Jr and just wants a win and a truck load of money.
Besides is was Pacman who called for this fight not GBP. Pac is the pound for pound #1 and if he wants to move up and take on De La Hoya, lets see if he can.

                  1) Steve Forbes is not the best.

                  2) Cotto would be willing to box against DLH making it better match style wise. Also, Cotto is not Mexican.

                  3) They still cheer for him when he is fighting. He may not be their fav mexican fighter, but he's still one of them.

                  4) True, but I'm really only looking at this from ODLH's point of view.

                  5) He will lose and lose badly if he trades with Marg. Is that how he wants to be remembered?

                  6) Oscar will make $'s regardless of who he fights.

                  7) Or it is likely that the opposite could happen.

                    1. Steve Forbes was a tune up to fight the best.

                    2. I really have not seen many diehard Mexican fans at his fights, I think it's been said that Mexicans consider DLH a traitor or something like that, they don't like him at all.

                    3. Number 2 is the answer.

                    5. Win or lose, if he puts up a good fight fans will remember him fondly.

                    6. True.

                    7. Doubtful.
