Silencers layin it down! Haha. Seriously though, as far as the argument of DLH being remembered, a fight against a tough as nails fighter in his weight class win or lose is better than a fight with a tough as nails fighter 2 weight classes below you that you are supposed to win. If he lost to Pacquiao it's going to be a way less forgivable outcome for Oscar. Be realistic.

Marg is not in ODLH's weight class.

And I have never said I think ODLH should fight Pac.

Don't forget he said he would never fight another Puerto Rican because of his wife, he backtracked on that pretty quickly.

It's very good for the sport, we would have a big star who fights exciting fights, for DLH it could gain him the respect of more fans and still make him a lot of money.

Alright, he's closer to DLH's weight class than Pacquiao is. Let's not be a stickler here, and you also never said that he shouldn't fight Pac.

            We see it differently.

            1) It would be better for the sport if Margarito fought in his own division against a top WW who has earned a shot.

            2) You seem to think that by fighting a tough fight ODLH goes out like a warrior and gains respect. I think that if he fights that way he gets KO'd and maybe even loses a little respect (if that's possible).

I don't think this fight will ever happen.

Oscar De La Hoya is looking for a great closing show for retirement. I think he's gonna play it safe and take on Manny Pacquiao.

A lot of people find it ****** and unbelievable, but it makes the most sense to me at this point. Cotto ruled himself out, and Margarito is to dangerous. Mayweather has retired, and Hatton is busy for a fight with Malinaggi. Trinidad won't fight below 164 lbs.

There's already been talks between Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions between the possible fight, and both fighters have a big draw of fans. Manny's willing to move up and fight at a 147 lbs. limit, while it's the lowest Oscar will go down.

It will be the current top pound 4 pound fighter against the former top p4p fighter. Everyone will see if Manny deserves to be a legend, while a lot of Mexicans want to see him get put down by a Mexican American fighter.

Expect this fight to happen unless Mayweather comes out of retirement.

If Margarito vs. De La Hoya takes place, the outcome will be the same as De La Hoya vs. JC Chavez. Except this time, Oscar will be Chavez. Margarito would trap Oscar and punish him until the ref stops the fight.

Oscar is not the same as he once was. At his current condition, a fight with Margarito would be suicidal.

                    1. Who will watch Margarito fighting the top welterweights? If he fights DLH, his fanbase would grow exponentially, making his fights against the top welterweights much bigger.

                    2. We'll agree to disagree on this because I think fans will respect him for fighting such a dangerous fight and if he puts up a good fight, fans would respect him even more IMO.
