your spartan/persian analogy fits baldomir/judah much better.
So u are saying that if u are the slight favorite in a fight, and u lose despite giving it your all. There is no way your performance can be considered "admirable" just because u were the favorite to win and instead u lost?

as the favorite your losing effort is not as admirable as the losing effort of the underdog.

          1) Cotto was not a slight favorite.

          2) Of course it is admirable but it doesn't mean it is more admirable just because he took a beating.

            1. What were the odds come fight time? 2-1?....3-1 at the most. What were the odds for the Floyd/Baldomir fight? 20-1?

            2. Nobody is saying his performance was admirable because he took a beating. If it were the other way around, and Marg took the beating, his performance up till that point would've still been considered "admirable"

Taking a beating has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that both fighters fought admirably. I think u need to open up a dictionary and look up the definition of the word.

Please explain what was so admirable about Cotto's performance if it had nothing to do with the fact that he took a beating.....

There's nothing admirable about quiting on your knees. Close your mouth already.
