Cotto got soundley beaten by a tougher fighter - he couldn't take the punishment and he hasn't got the weapons to punish a fighter like Margarito for his open style, end of.
Well he did it for more than two/three rounds, you're right about not being able to punish margerito but he could outpoint him if he kept moving all night. That said, I think he would lose again in a similar fashion.

You have to know, these people loveeeee to see us lose. They love it, white, black, pink, purple, lol they all love it. They love us mowin lawns, they love to see us struggle, they love all that. It makes them feel better about themselves. But when we win, lol they hate that...that **** burns em.
It's an interesting notion to respond to the obvious fact that Cotto is a better boxer than Margarito with an accusation of racism. I like Margarito, love watching his fights, but I don't watch him for his dazzling skill.

Could Cotto win a rematch? Anything is possible of course, and the key to Cotto beating him would be to spend the whole fight throwing a flurry and then moving. He'd have to run ALL NIGHT to a decision. Cotto lost the fight in the trenches. Stay out of the trenches and win a decision. I wouldn't pick him though, I think Margarito thoroughly beat him.

I'm hoping that the Ring magazine would do the right thing and rank Williams and Margarito as first and second respectively so we can look forward to the crowning of a new Ring champ maybe later this year. I'd hope that they don't drop Cotto in the rankings and have Mosley at number one.

Oh well, we'll find out today.

Yeah your right, But let me tell you something ..I thought Miguel Cotto was a very smart fighter and he could adapt to any situation , at least thats what everybody had been saying , It's just he was just so used to being the bully in the fight and when he met Margarito he knew if he hit him he wasnt going to back down, we even saw Margarito smile in round 2 when Cotto was hitting him and when he went back to his corner. He is also a champion that took his training very serious I dont take any credit from this man.

Because Margo didnt look like the superior fighter, Maybe the stronger fighter but he didnt impress the experts.

I think that guy who wrote the article mentioned that he picked Marg to win the first fight.

The guy who wrote that article predicted Margarito to win the fight Saturday.

He was right once, so he deserves to get to call the rematch how he sees it.
