just a question. do you think that margo had anything to do with cotto getting tired? the body shots? the nose he broke? the constant pressure?

sure cotto is the better boxer, with more skills, but none of that saved him.

as for the early rounds, sure cotto landed some good clean headshots, but margo tore his body up.

actually it did save him, for 9 of the 11 rounds he was either the better fighter or on par with Margarito.

I did and I was suprised at that. It was clear to anyone watching that Cotto was in control for 6 rounds, Margarito pulled it back a bit but not enough to be leading imo.

Yeah, but aside from that knockdown etc Cotto was the better fighter. I'm no Cotto fan and I'm no Margarito hater but its clear which fighter can change styles in order to win, Cotto just didn't have enough experience in doing it.

there is no doubt who the better fighter is(versatility wise), but when you are out gunned, your just out gunned.

the only other thing that i disagree with you on is, i feel that margo will go forward, and win alot more fights. hopefully get the money he has earned.

i do agree that cotto is not done, and my end up having the better career.

Depends who he fights. He needs to choose carefully because as I've said, he's very one dimensional.

Mate, i'm from the Uk, it ain't a racist thing like you're suggesting. The fact is, Margarito is a limited one-dimensional fighter with 5 losses to his name and limited potential.

Cotto on the other hand is a multi-dimensional fighter with 1 loss to his name and the potential to carry boxing on his back for years. in short, he's boxing's great hope.

Margarito won the fight but Cotto dominated it until he got tired.

Look, I too wanted Cotto to win, thought he had great potential. But a title fight is 12 rounds long, it isn't any good being able to box someones head off for the first two/three rounds then fade away. Cotto got soundley beaten by a tougher fighter - he couldn't take the punishment and he hasn't got the weapons to punish a fighter like Margarito for his open style, end of.

i want margo to fight paul williams so bad to avenge that loss. i think he will win, but man pw is a load to deal with. i think margo would get him though.

also i wouldn't mind seeing cotto fight clotty, or even cintron, for his next fight.

thats what a fan wants but Margarito would be smarter to go another direction and get his chips up fighting guys who suit his style better.
