Rematch Analysis: Miguel Cotto Should Beat Margarito

If Margarito was looking like ****, Cotto, after the fight, was looking like **** run over twice. Who cares how you start off because if you can adjust. The last man standing is what everyone remembers. Margarito was.....is Outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though Cotto lost he's still better than Margarito. Lots of boxers have been beaten by fighters that aren't even in the same league. Cotto fought a ****** fight, barely worked the body when Margarito was almost knocked out by a body shot earlier in his career and he never tied Tony up when he was on the ropes. Margarito isn't the machine everyone thinks he is cos i've seen him hurt plenty of times.

But Cotto obviously doesn't have the fire power to hurt Margarito, read my fight analysis on page 10 I think that is a good break down on why Margarito didn't allow Cotto to do those things.

Do you really want an immediate rematch?

HELL NOOOOO!! Not immediately ,that would cost him his career and mentaly i dont think he would be ready.I say he fights by the end of the year ,maybe early 2009...take on the winner of Clottey/Judah or maybe SSM/Mayorga then try to get his rematch by spring of 2009 since i think that Margo will fight PWilliams again by the end of the year

Marg in under 8 in a rematch....Cotto can't handle his size and strength, no matter what he does.

He handled it for nearly 11rds so i think with some better Stamina/endurance prep he can win but thats my opinion

props to MARGO again and again but he did not fight a masterpiece.Again that god gifted cement head bought him time to finish Cotto off.Again as Tony keeps fighting and blocking shots with his head will eventuallu take its toll

Ironically it is the writer that chose Margarito to win the first fight, he just thought the attributes he seen in that fight can produce a victory for Cotto in the rematch.

Cotto couldve pushed forward plenty of times, but something in his head made him want to always back peddle since maybe he was crackin margarito 3 times every 1 margarrito shot.

If he pressed Margarito i have a feeling Margarito cannot fight going backwards at all
