Sure I did. Cotto's face looked like potted meat. I especially like the shot that sent Cotto's nose streaming. What fight were you watching?

I think Cotto will come back smarter. Contrary to what some of the Margo fans would lead one to believe, Cotto did not take all the much punishment in this fight. It was not until the last two rounds that he really started to get hit, and even then, he still was not getting tagged that bad.It depends on how he rebounds from this loss, physically he may be fine but mentally he could be ruined, even though I think he'll be OK both physically and mentally, we won't know until he gets back into the ring.
I still believe he has the skills to beat Margarito and if he implements the right gameplan, he can win.
I think it looked a lot worse than it was because of all the blood. I think Cotto realized he had nothing left in the tank and decided to call it a night before he took any unneeded punishment.Comment

He was doing good in the first 5 rounds, I think he started to take shots in the 6th but it was still a brutal fight because the shots he did take were very powerful shots and it's taxing on him mentally because he hit Margarito with pretty much everything he had to the chin and Margarito just kept coming so he could be experiencing confidence issues about his own chin, power and stamina.I think Cotto will come back smarter. I think Cotto was willing to fight on if Evangelista hadn't jumped on the apron to stop the fight, he got up before Bayless' count reached 10 but he did look dejected.Comment

I'll concede to anybody here that Marg was "brutalized" if they can provide any clip of head shots that buzz or even stagger him. You folks seem to not want to recognize that man has taken it on the chin from even bigger punchers already.
Shawn@ "It was not until the last two rounds that he really started to get hit, and even then, he still was not getting tagged that bad."
Stop it. That is some serious denial right there.Comment

I call horse radish. This is ridiculous Cotto is the more talented BOXER, Margarito is the better FIGHTER. The problem is when you fight Margarito a fight always breaks out, get used to it. Cotto has lots of tools, but he didn't want anything to do with Margarito, he is starting to realize he can't rely on his power to stop or slow down fighters that have solid beards.
Cotto has shown no diversity in changing his plan as well, Margarito straight out said this was the fight he had chose and expected to happen and yet your saying Cotto could have done body shots, but adjusted great?
Margarito won the second and the sixth by half way through the fight. I fail to see how it could have ever been a shut out based on the first 6 rounds. Cotto couldn't deal with Margarito plain and simple. You didn't do a fight analysis you made excuses for Cotto's loss, that is ****en horse radish.Comment

Depends on what you mean by movement? But before I go any further, I'd like to say that what Cotto may have done wrong in the fight is in no way trying to discredit Margarita of his victory tonight.Cotto's movement is not really tiring. He actually uses it as a rest and to control the pace of the fight. But you are right. Towards the end of the fight, the pure retreating he was doing was not doing him any favors.
However, his four corners defense is very efficient. When he moves from one rope to the other in a leftward pattern.
Let me be clear on what I'm talkin' about when I say "movement"(I'm talkin' about lateral movement). I felt Cotto blew his load by the fourth round. And if you've seen Cotto's recent fights against Shane and Zab, he picked certain rounds to box. Cotto is at his best when countering and slippin' punches while staying in the pocket, which he did tonight, but he simply moved around the ring too much.
and the workrate he put on in the early rounds, my point is, I don't think he did a good job of pacing himself. I thought the slippin' and bobbin' was good, it's the lateral movement that didn't help his 'cause. He wanted fireworks and he got it in the early rounds, but he put too much fireworks on display too early in the fight against a guy who is a stamina freak.
By Cotto boxing the way he did, I thought he was doing too much of a good thing. Ya get what I'm sayin'.And as someone stated earlier, Cotto is not a good enough boxer to keep someone at bay throughout the fight, but that's what Cotto ended doing from the get go. And it affected his stamina, against a guy who has one of the highest work-rate in boxing today.
I mean, I don't know how the judges scored the fight. But I had Cotto winning atleast 5 of the first 6 rounds and if he would've preserved himself for later in the fight, maybe, just maybe he would've had enough to hold the Tornado off for those late rounds where Margarita starts to gather steam.
If you look at my previous posts prior to the fight starting, I said Marg has an inside shot, and it happened, the worst case scenario happened. Cotto jumped on him early and big, and ended leaving all he had in those first 4 rounds.Comment
