Your scorecard is pretty terrible, but w/e. HBO was definitely biased on Cotto that it was hard to stomach. At one point in a replay, Cotto's right hand clearly missed Margarito and Lamply mentions how clean it was. Lamply was wayyy too much on Cotto's nuts and it was tiring to hear it, and I'm the Cotto fan! By the end of the fight I think I had Margarito up a round or 2.

At certain times Lampley was calling Cotto's punches and literally ignoring Margarito's. One of his worst fight calls ever.

Cotto threw an uppercut and Lampley went NUTS over it ("oh and a HUGE right uppercut from Cotto") and it hit nothing but air.

He was definitely calling the fight in Cotto's favor...Steward and Kellerman evened it out though. They could see what was ahppening.

I had it even. But the pressure by then was to much. No way he could survive 5 more minutes. Cotto fought hard, but he was the beaten man and I agree with stopping the fight there.

I've seen worse. I'm rewatching now though and rescoring. So far it's the same, but that's because it's the early ones.

edit: Oh and I won't deny Lampley was biased. I felt like I was watching a barrera, taylor, or de la hoya fight

I just wish Floyd had the guts to fight Antonio but he doesnt.
Margarito is a tough tough brutal man but not a great champion.
                A good one YES.
                A great one no.
He will be defeated PERHAPS by someone he has fought in the past(hint).

Cotto was landing clean effective blows and Margarito was landing the kind that hurt, but they weren't landing all the way. Margarito might have won the 6th.

I mean I'll give credit to Margarito, he was effective, but he was not winning. I'd love to see a rematch.

                  Other thoughts:

                  - I'm not going to be like "Cotto sucks" he didn't run he did what he had to do to try and win. Margarito has average skill, but probably the best chin I've ever seen. My god, Cotto hit him with like 5 shots in a row and Margarito was just like "Lol I'm gonna KO you in round 11"

                  - I still don't like Margarito and feel he would lose to cotto in a rematch, Williams, and Mayweather. He put on a good knockout. I want to say he's average, but he's not. I wouldn't say great, but he's an elite welterweight fighter.

-Cotto + body = oh wait. He never went there. What the **** cotto?

-Really sad to see Lampley and Steward crying. Lampley was going to and Steward was almost going to. Their favorite boxer got crushed.

-Cotto needs to cut that pernell whitaker **** out, but he had the right idea of boxing and he was winning easily. Mayweather would have shut Margarito out.

-I'm still in awe about Margarito's chin. Don't know if I've made that clear yet.

-I'm not gonna lie I'm pretty bummed out right now, especially after seeing Lamps and Steward looking like they were going to cry. I'd probably cry if Hopkins got KOd though. I'm man enough to admit that.

-So I lost 15k on the fight, but gained 15k because it wasn't Fight of the year (bull**** to anyone who says other wise) and mr. grey hair and grey beard who has no name wasn't there.
I agree with all your comments and I had Cotto up 7 rounds to 3 with a scorecard very similar to your own. I'm pretty disappointed just now because I think the best fighter lost but like you I'm remarkably impressed by Margarito's chin and also his workrate and desire.

                    Round 6:

Margarito really walks him down, but he misses with most of his shots. Around 1:40 Cotto lands a good flurry. Margarito's shots are being blocked with the gloves and in the meantime Cotto is sneaking in right hands. In the last 30 seconds Cotto lands some really good jabs. I mean Margarito is really adding up the damage. Round 7 clearly shows this and so does round 11.

if you think Cotto could have lasted any longer................it's a good thing you aren't in his corner, cause you'd be eulogizing your fighter now.
