Cotto has something to prove now with his 1st loss.

He'll be back in great fighting shape.

not he is not coming back
I dont think cotto has the heart like barrera when he lost to junior jones 2 times
is going to be the same story like cintron, lose get back with a few good fights just to lose the rematch

Cotto might never be the killer he once was...but he will still be a contender probably. Maybe not. Depends on his mindset.

Some guys on here are just ****s, Cotto LOST. But he gave it his all and played his part in a modern classic so instead of droppin ****ty jokes and taking cheap shots show a lil respect.

His heart is beyond question he has proved it before and he proved he has heart in this fight too, in the end tho he had Nothing left and his body shut down on him. (Curtisy of Tonys relentlesness!) He paid Tony his respects in there and congradulated him he also gave the fans the thumbs up but obviously was too upset for an interview, im sure if he thought he could keep himself composed on live tv infront of millions of viewers he would have done it.

As far as being "Done" I thought initially **** this will be a hrd one to come back from, like the guy says vargas tito came to mind. But guys used to come back from KO losses all the time and if anybody has the mental toughness to do it its Miguel, im Sure he will be back strong

I never thought Cotto to be a mentally strong fighter. I like him but multiple times I have seen him look scared and beaten, though he did come back to win those fights. Cotto looks to worry to much in the ring. He is very mentally strong outside the ring, however the ring shows his true colors. If he was mentally strong he wouldn't have panicked like he obviously did.

I don't think he is ever the same, Trinidad took a beating from B-Hop and wasn't ever the same. Meldrick Taylor lost something to Chavez.

Cotto is talented but I never thought he was the fighter that would have a long career don't know why. I like him even thought he would win against Margarito, but Cotto just isn't the type of fighter that endures a long career.

Bodies don't take beatings like that and stay the same. Morales wasn't the same after Barrera(the first one), though he may go on to have a lot of success he did lose something in the ring that night. Morales is quite a bit more mentally strong then Cotto though.

I couldnt disagree more, Cotto didnt panic against Marg he just lost. He was majestic in there at times but it just wasnt enough.
I hav never seen Cotto show any emotion in there let alone fear, he has 1 of the best poker faces in the game. What fights are u thinking of when u say that by the way poet?

he looked pretty dejected in the 11th round of the margarito fight. was cotto signaling his corner to stop the fight when he looked over there???

I disagree with him but what do u guys think? Can Cotto bounce back or will this effect him?

Puerto ricos Kermit Cintron and Miguel Cotto were probably put in their too early with margarito, they arent gonna become the fighters they were poised to become
