With Cotto the over dog, and Margarito the underdog it suggests both may be overated. I could see Cotto coming back, but I was surprised at his lack of determination to switch it up and get stuck in. The route he was going was going to come undone to some extent, as later on when fighters are tired and more sloppy, harder shots land more.

On Cottos behaviour after the fight, come on it can be pretty emotional man, easy to say how one should or could react but you never know until your in those situations.

Cotto did walk round the ring and bow to the audience several times, and hug Margarito so that shows he's pretty decent.

He can come back, the fight was close, he had a chance of winning the fight had it have went on depending on the judges score cards. It's up to him at the end of the day. Before the fight I'd have said he has the determination to carry on no matter. However this does seem to have effected him, but for all we know the mental effects may be short term of make him stronger. I heard he said he only wants to fight 2 more years, which wouldn't even take him to the age of 30, which is where Margarito is now and probably in the best position of his career. Cotto can't afford to set time restraints like that, with fights further apart, and him needing to work his way into things a bit more now, he needs to give himself every opporutnity to really get back and do great things. An interview in the coming weeks may be a good insight.

I think he'll come back. The main reason Margarito won was because he is a HUGE welterweight while Cotto is a small welterweight. And it wasn't like Cotto wasn't holding his own against Margarito... He was winning half of the fight with his skill and combination punching but Margarito could take that because he is bigger and can absorb more punishment. If you look back at Margos career it was fighters his own size that he had trouble with. And it's not like Margo didnt take some damage he was getting hit with alot of solid shots so we'll see how Cotto bounces back.. I believe he'll bounce back well.

I disagree with him but what do u guys think? Can Cotto bounce back or will this effect him?

cotto can bounce back. it's not like his will was broken... it was his body... he just doesn't have the kind of conditioning it takes to go 12 full rounds all out. he ran against mosley and ran against margarito.

cotto can beat margarito if he learns to conserve energy, and fight at a pace he knows he can keep up with.

              He'll be back

Even in defeat, most fighters will take the experience and build from it. I see Cotto making a good comeback. Hopefully a rematch with Margarito will be in the works soon. I'd like to see that.

                "Quitto"?

You guys are not funny. Cotto will be back and hopefully to fight a rematch. He boxed perfectly but the mexican war machine wouldn't be denied last night. You guys should be happy you saw such a good fight and not acting like ass grabbing 6th graders.

Ok, yes cotto took the worst beating he will ever get in his life, he was broken down into pieces. BUT, let time go by a little for him to recover, and he can jmp back in to the picture. first, do not go after margarito again, he is the better man and he proved it. so what he needs to do is, wait some time. let his whole body recover which will definitely take time. after that, go ahead and call out mayweather out of retirement!!make him take a fight with cotto. then he is definitely a grown man after fighting margarito, so he easily wins against mayweather. then continue ure career. i wouldnt take a fight with dlh, simply because he wont get as much credit, when ure fightinh an old dlh, who doesnt really post a threat no more.

Cotto will be able to bounce back, he took a beating but he gave one too. It was a great fight and Cotto will probably take on someone like maybe Kermit Cintron or Luis Collazo and then get back to a possible rematch against Margarito or Paul Williams. He will be back, no way he goes down the path of Fernando Vargas. That's ridiculous.
