You may be correct, I doubt it, but I think this fight was comparable to the Vazquez Marquez bouts. Both guys took a lot of damage but both seemed to retain their skills and courage. I dont see Cotto wilting because of one tough fight. Mentally he's a tough cookie. Now whether or not he can win a rematch with Margarito and overcome those mental demons is a much more debatable subject but there is only one Antonio Margarito. Margarito's one tough son of a ***** who can take your best shots and stick to you like peanut butter on white bread. There should be no doubt he is a serious pressure cooker and if you cant punch hard enough or move well enough for the whole fight to keep him off of you your gonna get pounded.

Izzy quit because of his nose, the blood I seen Cotto spitting up between rounds should have concerned his corner more than it did and the wise decision would have been for a stoppage right then, not sending your fighter back out out into the tornado.

theres no doubt in my mind that cotto will bounce back. he still has all the great skills and is a very tough fighter despite what margarito did to him! i think what he needs to do is instead of looking for a big fight right now he just needs to find a couple of decent fighters and beat them. just so he gets that confidence and groove back because if he tries to rush back for example fighting margarito and he gets his ass kicked again then its over for him mentally and physically. he needs to ease back in!

Cotto needs a couple of tuneup fights against decent opponents, I think Cintron would be a good comeback fight, in my opinion marg ruined him mentally, not much physically, I think Cotto by brutal bodyshots wins this one.

Cotto is much more confident. Vargas talked a lot like a guy who doubts himself. Cotto is quiet and knows why he lost. He will be back and he will beat Margarito.

Cotto was spitting too much blood in between rounds. He took the knee because he is not a knucklehead. He knew he was gassed out and would not be able to punch back etc. Cotto said it himself, his kid was in the audience...he knew physically he was spent and decided to fight another day.
