i think pacman has already had a huge impact on the sport of boxing, and has opened the door for many filipino boxers. it may not seem like much but it truly does a lot to have a fighter from your country to look up 2. Pacman has set the foundation for all filipino fighters

Even Bob Arum announced Bernabe Concepcion as the next Manny Pacquiao when introducing him for his fight tonight. I highly doubt that. The guy has speed and decent power but his chin lacks and his overall fire and determination lacks. Forget just Filipino boxing, a guy like Pacquiao comes around once in a generation. How many other fighters at the elite level come at you with such ferocity and aggression like Pacquiao does? That's generally a no no when learning boxing as far as leaving yourself open, but Pacquiao has gotten so good at moving in and out with these crazy combos that he's comfortable being a madman in there. Won't see that again for a long time...
pacman is underated as a boxer thats the thing he was aggressive but he could also pick his shots example the LUCERO fight he showed amazing reflexes and counter punching ability.

These filipino guys do not know how to look for openings or pick their shots they are just throwing random text book combos 1 2 3 then move very predictable.

Nonito Donaire is the only guy I can see of the filipinos who can mix it up with smarts and timing, and looking for openings.

he countered Vic Darch so many times all night before he landed the 1 hitta quitta.

They are decent and none of them have that something special that will get them to the elite level. Then it's like promoters are pushing it down the Filipinos throats that this guy or that guy is the next Pacquiao to try getting them into the guy to make a buck off him in the future. Sadly they never get to see that point of really big bucks.
        Exactly

        Pacquiao is like Bruce Lee
When Bruce LEe was gone all these fools started coming out of the woodwork trying to be the next bruce lee but none of them had their own style they were all copy cats and failed miserably.

Things have changed- there are at least a few decent potential prospects out there, none the next Pacquiao of course..

Look this is not to bash the filipino boxers
but Mexico has so many champions and world class guys, so does puerto rico.
            Wrong!
Filipinos has had Champions even before Pacquiao like Puerto Rico does. The problem is most of them are flyweight and below which America doesn't care about. We have 4 world Champions right now. Pacquiao is big in the U.S., after him we will still have boxing Champions on the lower scale, probably just Asian/Southeast Asian big.....not Worldwiide big. (take for example Donnie Nietes)

              how am I wrong?
They do not have any other superstar champions besides pacman.
Just cause someone wins a belt and loses it does not make him on the level of villa, elorde or pacquiao.

              mexico had barrera, morales,finito lopez...

great fighters like Condes who just lost his title to a Mexican, dont be so ignorant pare!

its sad but true, filipino boxing will be dead once pacquiao retires... and these small Filipino's are paper champions that get their belt in thailand, they dont even defend their belt against world class opposition.

Ahh I forgot about that Condes kid wasnt his name Baby Pacquiao or something like that?
They also hyped him up like he was a bad little dude but then he lost as well.
The reason many of them lost is cause they are over confident and too relax like they do not train or use there brain in the ring.
The great fighters fight Smart and pick their shots and look for openings.
Pacman may be aggressive but he knows when to be aggressive.
