What Do These Numbers Have In Common: 334 And 337

Thats the number of punches Antonio Margarito landed against Sebastian Lujan and Joshua Clottey respectively and they didnt budge. Against Lujan he threw 1017 and against Clottey 1675, landing an awe-inspiring 20%. In basketball these type players are called volume shooters, they usually get their points, but its the result of hoisting 30 shots a game and hurting the team in the process. Just some food for thought.

Name another fight where a fighter landed that many punches and not get at least one knockdown, you might be looking for a very long time.

So if he lands that many punches on Cotto and wins, does that make him an even bigger piece of ****? Boxing is about winners and losers, not convoluted punch stats. No offense, but the comparision to basketball is idiotic.

Jesus Soto-Karass on Versus landed more in 10 rounds.
              Did you see that fight?
I think it was a total of 2400 punches thrown and broke all kinds of records.
              Wasn't that long ago either.

Clottey really is a damn good fighter! I hope he can get a title as I think he could beat most guys at WW. He has everything you could want in a fighter as well as being one tough bastard! He'll beat Judah pretty easy me thinks.

Technically Clottey is one of the best fighters to look at today. His left hand is stunning. Beautiful body shots and hooks and doubles it up really well. His counter punching is great as well. Lovely fighter to watch.

His only issue seems to be his stamina. He comes out too early sometimes and needs to learn to conserve his energy a bit better. Actually, he needs to learn how to relax. He's too tight. Other than that though, I think he's easily one of the best fighters at WW today. I want him to whip Judah and then get a title shot as well as a rematch against Margarito. He'll beat Marg if they fight again.

Its idiotic if you know nothing about boxing or understand that having a high percentage in anything is usually a good thing especially sports. Margarito just throws punches he doesnt try and be accurate, to me thats the sign of someone who isnt that skilled but uses offense as defense in a way. But you do what you have to do to win fights and I give him credit for realizing his strengths and weaknesses. His strengths are his chin and his stamina so he throws many punches and puts constant pressure on his opponent which is smart in his case. I only posted factual stats and still some dummy had to resort to namecalling as if Im pulling numbers out of thin air. Nobody's dissing Marg, its facts.
