However, it is impressive that he is very competative with very good younger fighters at 43. Even though some like to critisize the way he fights, I like his fights.
I find his fights to be interesting to watch because of the traps he sets and because you can almost see his mind working when he's in the ring but he's not the most entertaining of fighters.

yeah i find his fights interesting aswell albeit not entertaning

did u see the way he was moving quickly to his right against Calzaghe to try and get Calzaghe to rush in quickly to close the distance , Hopkins was trying to nail him with the right hand as he was coming in

Yeah, He fights very clever. I like to watch and apreciate some of the things he does. I admitt, I prefer his fights Tito and back from there though.

The Joe C fight is the 1st time he really showed his age. I don't think Joe had anything to do wit it either. I like Hopkins and he is a phenom for a guy his age, but he's almost at the end. I don't see him beatin Pavlik.

Yeah, he was trying to do that but Calzaghe was smart enough and experienced enough to not fall into it more often than not.

He was also trying to lure Calzaghe onto the ropes to throw wild shots so that he could counterpunch and perhaps score a knockdown, which he almost did at the end of round 7 (?).

Hopkins lost because Calzaghe made him work the hardest he's ever had to work.

That's why he showed his age in the end.

Hopkins is a great credit to the sport. His dedication through his entire career, not drinking, eating healthy, always running has paid off and at 43 he is still going strong because of it. The only notice of his age is his punch output dropping and his stamina. Nothing else has really gone.

He was at his best around that time, I thought he was best to watch from 1997-2001, he had some really good fights back then.

Yea. My personal faves have to be the Mercado fights, especially the 1st one. I also love his fight with Tito. Honestly, to say Hopkins is a boring fighter is silly, he might be now to some people but earlier in his career he was no where near boring!
