i mean, i don't wanna come down on the kid too hard, so if he makes a defense right after forbes (Which should go down in october if it goes through) i'll be cool with that, but i hope he steps it up soon!!!!

I agree with everything you said. I think it's pretty clear that Forbes is not going to ever be a top welterweight and this fight is a waste of time. Hopefully Berto's next fight will be meaningful.

I think berto beats everyone at welterweight except pwill. he should fight the best that he could get cuz I think he is ready for it.

Forbes will test Berto, trust me. As much as I would've liked to see Berto against a Collazzo, his management is smart. Putting in Berto against Collazzo at this time would've been risky, he could've won but also could've easily been ruined. I can't really complain about him fighting Forbes, Stevie aint no pushover, although his lack of power is what landed him this fight.

Also, keep in mind... how would it make Berto look if he manages to stop Forbes? Something Oscar came nowhere near to doing. Just a thought.

I think if he overlooks forbes he could have his ass handed to him. Forbes is a quality fighter and will be a good defense IMO.

Berto isn't gonna be a great champion. Yeah he looks impressive with his knockouts, but throws a lot of wide shots. Cotto, Mayweather, even Mosley would tax him.

                      Relax buddy

Berto has 22 fights and has been a pro for less then 4 years, now you think Forbes is a bum?? Sure Berto is getting some good dates on HBO against relatively easy competition but the guy is taking care of business. He's been a pro for about 2 months longer then Abner Mares and I don't see anybody bitching about his competition.

Was Cotto fighting the top guys 4 years in?? At this stage in Cotto's career he was fighting smaller men Victoriano Sosa and Demetrio Ceballos.
