why is berto fighting forbes again?!?

this seems ridiculous to me. how many times do i have to watch this guy fight on hbo before he faces a serious threat? i mean- he is the wbc champ of the most stacked division in boxing. yea, stevie's got some skills, but id rather see berto fight collazo, the winner OR LOSER even of clottey-judah or cotto-margarito, paul williams, shane mosley, mike jones, even quintana... any one who is a true contener or even lower top 10 fighter at 147 (not 140 like 2 lb.)... michal trabant? rodriguez? these guys were tomato cans- rodriguez an ex-cop.... anyway, what do you guys think of this matchup and if you feel similar to how I do, who do you think Berto should be fighting?!?

i mean, i don't wanna come down on the kid too hard, so if he makes a defense right after forbes (Which should go down in october if it goes through) i'll be cool with that, but i hope he steps it up soon!!!!

They're ironing out his defensive issues because of the danger of being thrown into the WW shark waters without it...Stevie Forbes is a definite step up in competition and I would've liked to see what he could've done to DLH had their fight not been a pre-planned public exhibition touted as a "tune-up" match.

FORBES!!?? What the ****? Berto is, was, and will always be a *****. It's mother****ers like him that are ****ing up boxing, while guys like Gamboa are trying to put it on steady ground.

I am pretty tired of Berto as well. I guess it's not his fault HBO wanted to showcase him early, but I've seen him on HBO undercards since 2006 and he hasn't fought a live body yet. Now he has Floyd's belt and is defending against a lightweight. Awesome

You guys are getting ridiculous...Berto made Trabant and Rodriguez look like tomato cans but at the time Trabant was 40+ fights and never been stopped. Rodriguez was a former contender who fought for a belt. Now hes fighting a former champion who just looked pretty good against DLH. After Forbes you can bet he'll probably fight Collazo or winner of Clottey/Judah...
