The blood was running in his eye. It's not for you to make the deterrmination on whether it was bad or not. I tell what though, I saw JC chavez quit in the second fight against Frankie Randell in 6th round from the same thing that happened to Rahman. Make no mistake about it that he quit. He did it in the second fight with Delahoya too. Did you have a problem with that?
Suspend Diaz's Trainer?

That really sucks if thats what happened. Brooks has been with Diaz for a long time now. He should have cared more. Either way, im sure Diaz is going to make a full recovery that guy has guts and will fight this all the way to good health.Comment

thats a paradoxical statement in itself my friend, as a fighter you will NEVER want to quit and you must have implicit trust in your corner to do whats right for you, if that means pulling you out because you cant see punches coming through closed eyes then so be it, at least as a fighter you didnt personally quit and you live to fight another day.Brooks may not have been trying to get his man hurt BUT he has a responsibility to look after the best interests of his fighter and by trying to "negate the disadvantage of him seeing out of his closed eyes" he pissed all over that responsibility and for that should have had his licence revoked. If Brooks was trying to help Diaz with the number of fingers, it was only to negate the disadvantage of him seeing out of his closed eyes. I don't think Brooks was trying to get his man hurt, no one could tell the extent of the damage to Diaz until he started to stumble.
No one is to blame for this, this kind of stuff happens. As we continue in this brutal sport, we learn more about how to prevent them. But neither the ref or the trainer is to blame for what happened, no one is really.
Nuff said my friend, best wishes to Diaz and his family.Comment

I agree a cut like that wasn't that bad or as bad as some that we've all seen before. However, my point is if he couldn't see the punches coming then being in the HW division where the punches are considerably heavier he may feel that he would've taken too much unneeded punishment. I agree with you I don't think he should have quit . I understand why he felt he couldn't go on though.Comment
