The same reason Mr. Calzaghe himself did..... No matter how much you Hate/love Grandpa HOP people will watch the fight, and when that happens there will be a lot of money made. I know your hardheaded but that is why... even you will probably pay $50 to watch this fight.... You can say you wont, its ok I understand. Like some others have mentioned, the only thing that can really come of this fight is "IF" Pav can win convincingly or better than Calzaghe did. Pav can force a BIG fight with Joe...

I won't be ordering the hop-pav fight. I don't order fights like that.

Karma...lol It comes back to bite you in the ass lol. Good post. Pav is in his prime doing it too. Thanks Arum. At least Floyd earned the right to wait lol. Some people wanted Floyd to fight top ww contenders from A-Z all over again. Floyd wants superfights at the end of his career. Pav(Arum) wants super fights with old men now. Actually it's all Arum's fault. I don't even want to talk about PAc-Valero lol.

Yeah, but Hop is 43 now. He looked good and then bad in his last fight. I love Hop to death, but it is time. He still has that mentality that these guys can't fight. He still wants to make money.

I think this1 is really going to be bad for B-Hop... it will be the same as the Calzaghe fight, the only difference is that Pavlik doesn't ''slap'' he throws bombs... and even the slapping of Calzaghe was too much for B-Hop...

I think that it is admirable at his age what he's doing BUT... we talking boxing here... boxing is a competition sport... and if you only go by numbers and say well for a 43 year old he did good... then nobody should fight him... because you can't win then against him. I think he should really retire cuz he simply showed me that he ain't got nothing left. The fight with Winky and now Calzaghe. Usually he destroyed the opponnent rhythms to do some own damage... against JT (although he started late), against Tarver and and and but now he's only fighting to make other ppl look bad... and that has nothing to do with boxing. It's called money making and running all the fight away and afterwards trying to sell it. like you just had won... that's BS. I think these time B-Hop really not realises that he's done... Pavlik isn't nowhere near as fast as Calzaghe and if Hopkins has his legs and then clinches every here and then to take away Pavlik's jab 1-2 then I think he can beat him.

Of course you have to do it... the point that I was making is... that earlier he did it and then he started to to do his own work... In his last two fights he did nothing like that. He just destroyed everything but never did anything on his own. If your satisfied with landing one right hand in a round, holding and moving away... I don't see what you have to do in a boxing ring.

Pavlik has not that hand speed but he doesn't need to. Hopkins can't move the whole fight so somewhere in the round he has to stand still, take his gloves up and let Kelly beat it. And even Hop said it after the Calzaghe fight. He was throwing five punches and only two of them where landing. Something like that he said. And if you get constantly hit with two punches by Pavlik it's gonna hurt big time. Like I said... Pavlik has long arms, has a lot of power in it and he throws them 12 rounds long. And I don't see Hop knocking Pav out, so this will be a severe beating for Hop... or again an actors lesson if he can't go on anymore. Pavlik is not the best out there but he's a mean man... he's business--- always prepared to take your head off... he's hungry... like I said... Hop does a lot and I expected him to survive Joe... he's smart... but if he would go the rounds with Pavlik I would really be surprised
