I heard that too. The problem is that Winky probably won't get any better offers and definitely not any better opportunities to get back on top again. It may be less than what he's used to getting, but it's not like he'd be fighting for free.

**** this fight, who wants to see another B-Hop borefest? I'd rather see Pavlik take on Mora, Williams, Sturm, etc...

being hurt, and being tired are to completely diffeent things. i cant remember the last seeing hopkins hurt, let alone on the verge of being ko'ed.

he's a defensive specialist. guys like hopkins and winky wright, and floyd mayweather DONT get knocked out, and his fights are so boring, becuz he fights in way that wont ALLow for a ko. u never see guys like that in uncontrollable or unnecessary exchanges. and smartly or not, they probably abandon more of their offense in favor of being defensive.

if hopkins loses, it'll be on points, becuz he's unable to be as "active" as pavlik. no more, no less.

even then, it still wont be clear cut, pavlik will win a disputed decision, or a split one. and yea, he may have more power than calzaghe, but lets no forget, hopkins will come into the fight as the bigger man, and pavlik is nowhere near as fast as calzaghe either. actually hopkins has a greater chance to win this one than he did the calzaghe fight, which i thought was a lock.........

IMO, the punches you don't see coming can hurt you just as much as your typical power shot. difference here is, hopkins will "see" pavlik's shots coming, it just depends on whether or not he'll have enough in the tank to fight the whole fight...........
yup I agree... PAV has a chin and a punch. I don't think the fight will end on a KO.. I actually don't even see this fight really happening.... I think its all talk or hype. i think maybe HOP is trying for this so he can attempt to beat an undefeated fighter before he gets out of the game I don't know. Either way this will go all 12 and PAV will win a UD because he will simply just throw more punches that will all be blocked like on the Calzaghe fight. BUT because he was more active, he will win a semi-boring fight. I don't see this going down.....

LMAO!!!!! yea.......................to keep dreaming!!!! no f'in way hopkins gets ko'ed-EVER!!! wtf are you talking about???

if hopkins loses, it will be based solely on an inability to match pavlik's intensity. u guys talk about hopkins like he's completely over the hill.....while he's no offensive wiz anymore, he still defensively tops in the game.

pavlik doesn't throw 1000 punches a round, so this fight will be a lot slower paced than the calzaghe fight (which hopkins won), and pavlik can be outboxed-ass he was in the second fight with JT, which i think he actually lost.
Pavlik is a high out put fighter with tons more power then Cal and a much longer reach. Pavlik also has a strong stiff jab, one of the best in the game. It is an interesting fight because you don't know which style will prevail. Pavlik will not stop coming no matter what Hopkins throws, and he will be punching the whole time. But Hopkins is a master counter puncher with some of the best ever D.

I think it will be a young lion eating the old lion, but that is cuz Hops is 43. Pavlik is the strongest fighter he has fought in a while(I don't think Tarver is stronger, as dumb as that sounds).

There is absolutely zero chance of Pavlik KOing Hopkins but he should get a decision win based on activity, but it won't be straightforward and is a dangerous choice.
I think it will turn out like Joe's fight. Not as dominating as one might expect, but a decision based on activity. It would be exciting and really set up Pavlik-Calzaghe if Pavlik won impressively or by KO (however unlikely).

                    what r u talking about???

pavlik fights at 160, hopkins at 175. if they're talking about fighting each other, especially as soon as october, the fight will almost most definitely have to be at a catchweight........sorry, but i'm still waiting for the "conspiracy theory."
                    Conspiracy theory? lol
