he didnt start losing weight for the entire 8 months.. he did his 10 week training camp...

now when you have FAT on your body, losing 24 pounds... QUITE doable with a professional 10 week training camp... when you have NOTHING but muscle.... losing 24 POUNDS.. is HUGE... especially at 34-35 years old...

you have to run with a rubber suit on, then run some more, then run some more... and completely weight drain your entire body... lose 24 pounds of water and muscle... and THEN go fight a 12 round championship fight with a GOOD fighter...

    and he WON!

now after the fight, u think hes just gonna keep all that water off and be dehydrated? no hes gonna go back up to where he was after the fight...

and guess what? 6 months later, hes gonna have to do it ALL OVER again... at 35 years old... theres no way, no how, that ISNT gonna take it out of you.... as ive said before.. u can pass out from doing NOTHING if your dehydrated, let alone being punched in the face... being dehydrated definitely takes away from your punch resistance...

with that said, tarver STILL landed a good punch on roy...

the johnson KO was 4 months after the tarver KO... and yet ANOTHER training camp right after the tarver fight... hes basically KILLING his body with this ****

and the 3rd fight with tarver... well that was basically... just GO 12 rounds and survive... i think anyone NORMAL would be gunshy after being iced twice..

all u have to do is look at the comparison below.. and know something is going on with the weight draining

    Ruiz fight

    8 months later, tarver fight...

Let me add a lil more to this since i can relate to what your saying. In junior high and highschool i played football and basketball. In football i played DE and in basketball i played small forward pf and center. In football I tryed to bulk up 10-15 lbs more than i normally weigh since i had to go against huge OL and big runningbacks. Then during b-ball season i ran alot and tried to drop weight to deal with quicker guards and basketball players. During that transition I took me a lil while to adapt. What really went to **** was my reflexes and cordination(along with foot and hand speed). Your body has to adjust to the new weight so that also could explain why his reflexes etc wasnt as good as it normally was. IF anyone out there played sports that contrast each other like that would know what im talking about in regards to loosing and gaining weight(muscle not fat) like that.

Some of you ppl must be dumb ****s......Have you ever watched a prize fight and scored it.....
How many of these dumb ****s have watched the RJJR v Antonio Tarver 1 fight more then once..........Please tell me.....BC if you have....And do shut the volume off with them dumb ****s of anouncers given there **** take on every round.....And watch it again....Roy EASILY i repeat EASILY wins 7 rounds.......

Tarver wins the first 2 rounds by putting Roy against the ropes and pounding away. The next 5 rounds..........Easy....Tarver stops throwing, He doesn't press Roy and he allows Roy to win these 5 rounds with absolute ease by sitting in the middle of the ring and potshottin Tarver.....And using his rig hook to the body effectively...

Now Tarver goes onto win the next 2 rounds pretty easily as he again has Roy on the ropes and is throwing every shot in his entire aresenal at Roy....again great rounds for Antonio Tarver......

Now in rounds 10-12 Roy Jones Jr came and stepped up for the 1st time in his career when he was facing adversity. Roy went and threw his combos and let his hands go while again Tarver sat there dumbfounded like he idnt think Roy could possibly do anymore.....

BOTTOM LINE......And for all you Mo'Mo's who feel Antonio Tarver won this fight.....

ANTONIO TARVER DID EVERYTHING IN HIS POWER TO LOSE THIS FIGHT WHEN IT WAS THERE TO BE WON.......MEANWHILE RJJR DID EVERYTHING IN HIS POWER TO WIN THIS FIGHT AND HE DID.....

116-112 8 rounds to 4 for Roy Jones Jr......Any true fan and anyone who has some type of knowledge of boxing has Jones winning this fight....And yes it was the toughest fight of Roy's career, but he showed something that i have ****in yetto see outta your boy Antonio Tarver.......HEARRRTTTT!!!!!!!!

          3) In May of 04, with another 6 months time to get used to the weight again, Roy gets TKO'd.

          4) In October of 05, with another 17 months time to get used to the weight, Roy gets decisioned by Tarver.

How does Roy look his best in the fight where hypothetically he should have been the most weight drained?
RJJ barely got past Tarver the first time because he was weight drained. Even though he had more time to get used to 175 lbs it already took it's toll on RJJ's body and legs.

Plus the KTFO ruined RJJ's chin and confidence

It's called the terror of being hit. Steward, as much as he flip flops on fight predictions and such, stuck in a good nugget of wisdom about the risk in taking a fight so soon after being KO'd and the risk was becoming gunshy which could lead to being KO'd again. I say Roy was suffering from the terror of a KO just by the performance, no need to get in his head with any bs conjecture. He's winking, and blowing kisses and **** into the crowd, while not throwing and just trying to survive... hell, I can't even say survive, it was more like he was just hanging around until Johnson nearly killed him (I thought he was going to die for a minute immediately after he went down and stopped moving).

I was screaming at my TV for that one, it was clear to me he was shook after Tarver 2. He wasn't doing jack offensively and had the nerve to show off like he wasn't in a losing bout more than halfway through the fight. I was very surprised to read on the many boxing boards, that Tarver knocking Jones out prior was of no relevance to Johnson doing it. Had everything to do with it, and the viciousness of it to me.

After that he was and still is mentally bothered by it, Tarver is in his head, he is so cautious after that punch when he is in the ring with Tarver, thats called ownage just get over it. Its like having a horrific incident happen in your life and when faced with that thought again it affects you. Psychologically Tarver is in his head, like when Vernon beat Shane the first time, in the second fight whenever Vernon feinted with the right hand Shane jerked back, it happens all the time, just because it happened to Roy oh well. Funny how nobody says Roy was weight drained in the Johnson fight, what happened then? Roy lost every round and got knocked out, I saw in Roy's eyes after the first Tarver fight he wasnt mentally there, look in his eyes, he looked mentally disconnected, like he wasnt all there. Its called getting knocked out horrifically.
He got caught with a shot that the regular Roy would have looked at as it flew by him. That's why it landed.

                This post explains everything.

Jones won the first fight by winning the last 2 rounds, 115-113 was the score I had.

Nah, everybody is open when they let one go themselves, Tarver countered at the right time, explain why he got knocked down by Lou De Valle then, same situation?
