I also love the fact after getting more credit than anybody for beating one of the worst heavyweight champs ever in Ruiz, he had all the options in the world. When names like Lewis, Holyfield and Tyson came up. RJJ jumped all over the idea of fighting a then pretty small name in Tarver. Taver was the best fighter he fought in years and lost the first fight, but like always Jones living on his name got him the decsion. So Jones has to be ready for the second fight, no doubt about it. Tarver game him his toughest fight ever. Fight comes along and boom Roy Jones gets KTFO.

The same people who say RJJ was weight drained for the Tarver fight are the same ones who blow off the fact that James Toney was. He had to lose 50 pounds and be on a IV when RJJ fought him.

Take off your Roy Jones hat from the 90s and really watch the fight.
No matter what is was a close fight, Jones getting the close controversial decision is okay with me. He was Roy Jones. Not the worst call ive ever seen.

But really what does that matter, they fought again and Roy Jones got KTFO. Then tryed again a third time and lost yet again. Was straight up was timid. Lost pretty badly.

Tarver was always going to cause Roy problems at any point in their careers. Roy is better, but Tarver could have beaten him at any time and vice versa.

It could have went either way. Like I said a "close controversial decision". Not much else to say other than that. It only makes Jones look worse and puts even more time in between the "HUGE weight drain" and the time he got KTFO.

Jones at the very best went 1-2 with Tarver, so what does it matter. The same Tarver who went on to lose most of his big fights. Only going 1-1 with Jonson and getting beat down by Hopkins.

There's no greater proof to the greatness of Roy Jones Jr. than the fact that people argue he should've fought Lennox Lewis.

That pretty much says it all.

He definitly won that fight, he clearly won more rounds.

                      No way.
Prime Roy desposes of Tarver with ease.
