Dawson isn't big money, PAv and AA are 2 divisions lower. Jones and Cal is a con artist fans great fight. They conned their way into the H.O.F.
You sound like a paid mascot, my man. You actually asked me why could Calzaghe even think of fighting the top dogs like Pavlik and Abraham? What, are you scared for Joe's life or something? That is the only reason that I can think of why you'd say he shouldn't fight the top dogs.

Great fighters leave the sport by fighting the best, not coasting into retirement againt shot fighters.

Look at how Floyd Mayweather did it. He left the game by knocked out the best at 140.

That is equivalent to Joe knocking out Pavlik at 168. Imagine what that would do for his career and legend?

Instead he'll ride off into the sunset by beating two old ass legends. That's a shame, but it'll haunt Joe for the rest of his boxing life. He'll never get full credit for beating Roy and Bernard. Never.

It's just like Larry Holmes not getting full or even partial credit for beating Ali...

NOW IMAGINE fighting a guy that just throws many slaps and has no power.... Jones will fight Joe as if he's never been KO'ed. He wont have that fear of THAT ONE BOMB hunting him down like JOHNSON or TARVER.... Joe will throw bunches of mini-me slaps that will make Jones take risks and counter JOE to the body and slow him down for the later rounds... He will pull Joe to the ropes and counter all day while Joe trys to flurry with his pitty pats.... IMO Jones only fear is POWER, JOE has NO power and this is why JONES wanted this fight.....
i dont think thats WHY he chose to fight joe... I think he wants to fight Joe because Joe is on the pound for pound list, and roy wants back on the list - HIS WORDS... joes undefeated, and very beatable, especially by roys style.... the non power issue is icing on the cake.

I dont think hes as afraid of power as you think, being he just called out sam peter last week...

I think every punch Tarver threw he was thinking is this the one... is this it..... I mean rally.. I think his WORST fear is GONE when facing Joe calzaghe... the guy who "SLAPS"! make any sense ???
I'll give you the Ruiz fight. Roy took a serious chance by fighting a damn heavyweight...

However, more times than not, Roy just coasts and dances his way to a boring 12 round decision.

I see him going all 12 with Calzaghe, but if he throws one power punch with murderous intentions, I'll be SHOCKED.

Yeah he will go all 12... and he will throw some heavy shots because there will be nothing of ANY power in return from joe... Joe SLAPS and he slaps a million times... Jones will counter these slaps with that power shot you are looking for... I think he will commit to his punches and i think you will be surprised as will Joe...

Dude I think you are seriously underestimating Joe Calzaghe. Did you watch his fight against Kessler?

yeah they dont call him the "ROBOT" for nothing.... remember Jones is a hell of a lot faster even today, and remember Jones does have some power with those counters, especially the right hook. Remember Joe likes to swing at will.... Jones will love this, he will counter and like I've stated many times, he will make Joe think not once or twice but probably three times before he does his windmill pitty pat hay day slap punching combo mix....

Yeah I agree with that. Its just that WESS is making him about to be some ******ed slapper that couldn't beat up an 80 year old woman. Kessler may be very one dimensional but he hits hard and was on top early in that fight. Joe did very well to adapt and come out on top.

Let's just not make out like Roy is going up against some hopeless bum here.
