tarver comes into it when im talking about roys chances of beating any of the other light heavyweights, tarver isnt a one hit wonder, he has had a very succesful career, he could have achieved alot more if it wasnt for his late start as a pro,

not true bro. tarver is a very good fighter. not an atg, but a very good fighter nonetheless.

You know what your right ill admit it. Tarver does a few decent wins. Nothing great besides the Roy KO though. Im not trying to hate.

I think I was more disturbed at this guy coming in with a gif of tarvers ko of Roy and spouting off about how Tarver would destroy Roy if they fought again like it had anything to do with the conversation.

Well, for the most part this was an embarassing and hate filled thread. Some of you should be ashamed to even call yourselves boxing fans. I have finally realised that the average level of knowledge on these boards is absolutely awful. Many here genuinely don't know the first thing about Calzaghe beyond the B-Hop fight and cannot overcome the Euro = Fraud trope they have embedded in their head, even though Calzaghe keeps on winning. Oh well.

As for Calzaghe saying the fight will be harder, I find that difficult to imagine. I suppose you might say that Roy carries more actual attacking threat than Hopkins did, because he is a faster, more fluid puncher and because B-Hop did little or after the opening rounds. Problem is Roy will probably gas quicker than B-Hop did, and is definitely more vulnerable himself. Its not impossible that Jones might give him a decent fight, Calzaghe is older now than Jones was the first time he lost, but really I think Calzaghe is just talking up the fight.

i agree. i think roy was great prime, and is still good, but far from the prime roy. i also feel while roy will have his moments, but his style allows joe to be joe much more than he was against bhop. bhop will have been a tougher fight than roy. after 5 or 6 rounds joe will take over, and win a comfortable ud.

look as i have said roy would not beat any good light heavyweight out there, thats where tarver comes in, thats where glen johnson comes in thats where any light heavyweight comes in.
