I know think Roy has stuff left. Believe me I hope I am totally wrong. I just watch my favourite Roy fights every night and then I watch Tito or Prince and I just don't see it. As much as I want to I cannot. Sure there were some flashes of the old Roy against Tito but he was up against a totally overmatched and inactive opponent. As I have previously stated I just havent seen Roy throw fluid combos for so long, I can't see him just magically recapturing it.

Because your comparing this roy to old roy...

U need to see them seperate

This Roy, has a completely seperate style... different tecnique different stance... this roy is a different fighter... no 39 yr old could ever do what the 25 yr old roy did... roy changed his style.. the tito fight is an example of how roy took his offensive arsenal and put it behind a more classic defense... he doesnt use gut reaction and reflexes to dodge punches... he uses his still intact hand eye coordination to block... and to counter...

You need to see them seperately.

I co-sign that. Bernard is a great counter puncher and has a great boxing mind. Having said that, he also throw about 6 punches a fight and is mind numbingly boring to watch. Everyone criticized Calz after the Hop fight. They say he won a split decision against a boxer in his forties. While that is true, I am not sure you can find any boxer alive that would make for an exciting fight with B-Hop. Hop slows the pace down so much so during his fights that you could get done with all your chores and still come back to the fight and nothing will have changed, he is like a broken time machine, nick name "The Delorian". Yes he's a great counter puncher and has a great mind for boxing but his output is terrible to watch, that is why everyone has a hard time with the guy.My dad rather watch repeats of Larry King than a Hopkins fight lol. Anyway back to my original point. Roy beats Hopkins all day, every day.

Possibly. I can see that he fights very differently now, I guess I am just yet to be convinced that he can do it well enough to beat Calzaghe. He has pretty much been the man in his last three fights with his opponents fighting very reactive fights. Against Joe it will be completely different. Calzaghe is a pressure fighter and now that he has lost most of his punching power he relies predominantly on overwhelming and outworking his opponents through his punch output. I just don't really see Roy enjoying that style. I know all the arguments about the counter rights Roy is capable of and quick left hooks on the inside. I dunno, I guess I will just have to wait and see. I guess I would just rather be pleasantly surprised rather than completely shattered as well which may partly explain my horribly pessimistic outlook.

That sucks for Joe since Bernard already showed that he could beat Joes ass. Joes dad knew Bernard won, so im guessing Joe and his dad are thinking he's getting knocked out if somehow old, washed up Roy is a tougher fight. Joe has shown throughout his career he doesnt want tough fights and taking Roy Jones over Kelly Pavlik further proves how much of a joke his career is.

Jones fought David Telesco and Clinton Woods. What did they do to "position themselves" to get the fight??

Took a pretty thin purse split I would say. Plus Telesco did everything he could to get that fight. He was turning up at Roy's press conferences and harrasing him when he was doing press work etc.

Exactly. Roy wanted big bucks instead of big fights. Which is why it amazes me when certain people criticise Calzaghe for doing the same for his final fight. Roy was doing it during his prime years.

I agree. I see no problem with maximising your earning potential. If Joe gets the most money fighting Roy then he should do it. I have never criticised anyone for taking the most money offered to them. It is their occupation, it is what they are there for.
