I don't think it should matter so much. Kelly's a middle, Calzaghe's a light heavy.
One up, one down and meet at supermiddle or as close as they can manage to make it a fair and sactionable bout.

Oh I'd agree that Joe's punching power left him years ago. Fortunatly his chin, skills and speed remain, so the fight would be competitive. Pavlik has a good chance though, significantly better than old Roy.
Calzy is near the end of his career and so he wants big paydays. With Jones he has a big name fight which means more money and less risk. Good business decision but intelligent boxing fans know he is taking the easy way out with Roy when Pav is the real challenge.

Intelligent boxing fans know that Pavlik is no real threat to Calzaghe at all.

And Jones is more of a threat? At least Kelly has a punchers chance which is more exciting than the Jones fight will be.

At least we can agree on that. All the roids in world won't help him this time.

Well I agree to a certain degree. Pavlik has a killer punch and yes Joe's chin has been tested before. But I can see Pav putting him on his ass. If Grandpa HOP can, than the young and rising HUNGRY PAV can just as easy. As far as boxing, Pav might get schooled, but would def get respect from joe with his punching power. Now, Jones on the other hand has decent power now a days. I think he could put Joe on his ass just like HOP did (flash knockdown) but wouldn't KO him. I think Jones has the upper hand in ring with smartness, counter punching and SPEED. ALL Joe brings to the table, like any other fight is endurance... dude cant box... he can just flurry non-stop and overwhelm you and move. I think that is where Jones will over come his technique and use the ropes for his advantage and counter all night to slow joe down and eventually make him think 3 times before he starts to go slap crazy. I believe Jones has just as much of a chance to win as Joe... ONLY reason I say that is because Jones is OLD and not primed.... This wouldn't even be a debate if this took place 8 to 10 years ago... I think this will be a real competitive fight, the hardiest fight to date that Joe has ever fought and I think its going to bring the best HUNGRY Roy Jones Jr out.... this is the making of G.O.A.T for Jones, and I think he knows that..... So im sure you know who Im going for....

You would say that... I wonder if Joe thinks that too since he didnt have interest in fighting a man that KO's everyone he gets in the ring with.... call me crazy....
