I think Chris Eubank deserves a mention too, because it was one of Joe's toughest most competitive fights and I suspect that for the twenty-five year old Joe that Eubank was an even tougher opponent than either Kessler or Hopkins was later.
    i agree

Hopkins fought to survive Kessler fought to win there is a huge difference

Kessler, because unlike Eubanks and Hopkins, he was in his prime. Joe fought a perfect fight against him.

Mitchell come on dude the guy had him down but Calz whiped the floor with him after that, i think Brewer gave a better acount of himself than Mitchell cause Brewer made it a tough fight for Calz allthough Calz won clearly

just because brewer fought better against joe doesn't mean brewer was better.

mitchell at one point was considered #3 in the division behind ottke and joe.

i thought it was to list joe's best opponents?

is it joe's best fights and hardest fights?

                  No.

Eubank then went on and should have won the Cruiserweight title against the man who KTFO David Haye.

Eubank was a force of nature. That was by far Calzaghe's best win because it was Eubank and because he was a rookie who had barely been beyond 3 rounds due to being so much better than the domestic and European opposition.

Hopkins? Top 5. Calzaghe's pretty past his peak as well now, which most people seem to be forgetting.

the thread was joe's best opponents.

who you want me to put manfredo? bika?

it doesn't matter how joe did against them.

i'm listing top 10 off of paper records and name recognition.

lennox ktfo out of tyson. does that mean tyson wasn't one of his best opponents? certainly one of the biggest name wins.......

u should base it on there credentials at that point in time if u think Mitchell had the better credentials at that point in time fair enough im just saying that his performance against Joe contradicted that when u view Brewers performance against Joe it leaves a good indication of what each respective fighter had left in the tank

its all about opinion im not saying your wrong im just saying i dont agree
